As a Sweden main who has all ground and helicopters researched and bought I wish I put more time into the Russian tree.
Although, I think alot of what is going on here has more to do with the match maker than it does with the tanks themselves. Every time I play Sweden I am against Russia, with a bunch of sweats who one shot everything cross map, usually not waiting till I leave spawn. But whenever I play Russia my team is made up of a bunch of people with one premium tank who die immediately.
The match maker has never been “even” or “fair”. There was someone who went through the code awhile back and found, among other things, that it is actively punishing free to play people by putting them on weaker teams for example.
Win rate is also one of the things that cant be judged off of the player base or the vehicles, as the match maker tries to match people up in such away that everyone maintains as close to a 50% win rate as it can.
With the match maker biasing teams in order to achieve this, there is no way to tell how effective the vehicles are in game on their own, or even factor in the playerbase.

Also yes, reverse speed will save you a ton. See your team crumbling? Just reverse out of there at 30-40 km/h to a more defensive position that will prevent you getting completely overwhelmed.
And yet it will still get overmatched, and is not often angled upwards due to Russian tanks inherently struggling to go hull down, so its often just cover that hides their hull like monument on Normandy for example, albeit T-72s/90s straight up cant play there.

No, it isn’t. Good reload, mobility, and gun handling is meta on city maps.

My dude, I have the chinese rank 8 mbts, and like i have said about 4 times, the russian ones as well. I have actually played the british MBTs for a long time, and can do quite well in them, but it is much more difficult and requires a lot more focus than just, holding W like I can do in russia. I also have rank 8 germany.
The T90M is actually pretty close to some of the abrams series, type 10/tkx, leclerc and merkava, it probably just doesnt feel that way, because most of the players who play those vehicles (with the exception of the abrams) are usually very skilled, because its usually not their first nation. And of course its not going to be close to the leopard or strvb, thats because IRL they are also exceptional MBTs, and this is true for all other top teir tanks not just the T90M. The leopard and Strv are better when compared to ALL other top teir tanks
