Russian Teams Steamrolling NATO - Top Tier is Broken Again?

Ah, fair enough

I lead a line with 12 vehicles, but when the map is terrible or my team is terrible and full of newbies, I just leave after one death without bothering to block the other vehicles; I just switch nations.
I’m do this so many times in a day

Bad map + team instantly gone = insta leave

These two combined with terrible RP gains and CAS just makes grb intolerable for longer sessions

I will counter my own point though by saying that it’s provable that the T-80s autoloader can be slowed to reduce wear and tear, so slowing an autoloader is not historically in accurate.
T80 throttle

Yeah, slowing down autoloaders with this justification can work provided the change is reasonable.

All such changes HAVE to be reasonable though, with solid justification

Exactly, that’s why people think it’s bad because they don’t want to adapt to reality. The tank has a decent gun; I’ve never had trouble penetrating anything. It has a good turret traverse, good top speed, and a decent power-to-weight ratio that lets it hit 60 km/h quickly. Its downsides are the reverse speed absolutely terrible; I’d love to meet someone from the Russian MoD or UVZ in person and ask what the hell is going on in their heads. And Gaijin, for giving it such a terrible reload time when it could actually reload faster… It’s just like the MiG-25: almost everyone says the MiG-25 is unplayable trash, when in reality, it’s basically a monster that can dominate everything. Man, what are you talking about? Look at me I’m a USSR main; after years of playing just one nation, reverse speed and reload times don’t even matter anymore, lmao.

Doing something that would negatively affect Gaijins bottom line? To the Gulag with you!

And i dont even think we necessarily need something like that. What we need is a better way of easening new players into the game. Protected low level matches and new, up to date tutorials, because throwing level 1s to the level 100 wolfes is just stupid. And even in your example of progression locked purchases: What does playing until rank 6 really teach you about top tier gameplay? The game is so BR compressed that the difference is staggering, in Air even more so than ground. If Gaijin allows people to jump multiple BRs with money then its their responsibility to ensure a smooth entry into those tiers not the responsibility of the new player.

Exactly what i do to not kia myself during a match

Yeah, it’s a huge problem they aren’t going to fix. Ground Realistic Battles has been stagnant for a decade it’s exactly the same as it was during the beta test when it launched. But back then, it was so much better. Man, every now and then I watch old War Thunder gameplay videos from like 8 or 10 years ago and it still makes my eyes light up to see those massive maps and the game’s color palette from that era, which really created a sense of immersion.

It maybe feels terrible for you because youre not used to its playstyle? Obviously it has massive downsides and obviously there are better and more meta tanks for top tier. That doesnt make it a bad tank though. If played correctly in a more passive, controlled role in a mix of a team that runs t80bvms, BMPTs and whatnot that are w rushing and t90s sniping and pushing more careful/holding map control it can be an absolute beast. Combination of russian borked armor/damage model without turret basket, autoloader and spall liner with one of the best turret armor and best frontal armor profile of any mbt in game with lws, still very good sidearmor and russian magic era does that to a tank. Just dont suicide rush like in a t80 and always consider you cant get out of unfavorable situations as easily, use ess and smokes in cqc and commander override for sniping extensively and you’ll be fine. If it would be bad i would have bad stats in it. But they are similar to most other top mbts and surprisingly even better than some other very strong top mbts. Might be bc it suits my playstyle somehow (which would be very mysterious to me) or it simply isnt as bad as lots of ppl make it out to be that simply dont like its playstyle or dont want to adapt to it.

Edit: Just saw this comment after i finished my post. Absolutely correct. But if anything, that lets you concentrate more on your actual role and positioning in the t90. You dont have to care about bumrushing just to run into multiple enemies that you couldnt hear or differentiate. You dont have to care much about working ridgelines or fighting on hilly terrain because all of that is just a recipe for disaster. Focus on the positions where you can shine and how to get there and support your team or counter flanks. if youre on the frontline rushing in a t90 without team support youre forcing it into a unfavorable role (maybe a better term would be: you’re gambling with bad odds, bc theres tons of faster tanks out there and your slow reload and bad reverse is resulting in a very hard time dealing with multiple agressive enemies), despite its very good armor.

Well there is a reason it’s called Ground RB and not tank battles.

Ohh… Dose “Ground” mean something that it did not for all of recorded history now?

I didn’t know ground is another word for tank, i’m sorry.

Well unless you want to argue that planes helis and ships operate in dirt I don’t see what else it would mean.

I prefer the 11.7 Ariete over the T-90M and do better in said 11.7 Ariete.

Yes the T-90M is dogshit.

EDIT: maybe dogshit is a strong term, but I can’t explain how much I despise playing it.

Read the description and you will know.

Yeah “ground vehicle realistic mode” what’s your point?

T90 is not even in my lineup anymore, i rather use a Sprut/2S38 or (yes god forbid) the BMPT.

Read the entire description, it clearly says it’s a combined arms mode and does so for years.

Why so much hate on my Tank ☹️😢💔
