Russian tanks not getting one shotted

Hey so i don’t really know if its my skill issue or im unlucky. I shot the t 80 right in the ammo like always but somtimes like now it doesn’t blow up and gets me killed every time. If its a skill issue could someone help with what i did wrong

Unlucky I believe, if you track every red dot meaning result of an spall hit, most of them is stopped by the fuel tanks and fewer stopped at the same time created by the autoloader, I often one shot Russian tanks, and had one time I can remember shooting so low yet able to destroy it. I recommend you not aiming that low, instead of focusing on the ammo, go for crew, the breech is large enough to be damaged in the proccess.

Ohhhh ok thank you so much

you cant really go for other shots from that angle though, because the ERA and fuel tank might eat your dart, and even if they dont you probably wont kill 2 crew

I tested a little bit in the protection analysis i could on that moment hit it a a bit higher and that would be a better shot i think

Your round dodged the ammo charges [the things that explode].
Aiming higher would’ve hit ammo.

you literally pixel sniped the bit before era starts but behind the track, hitting that tiny sliver in a match is not realistic at any sort of distance or with bushes or similar intervening

also the charges are not what explode in game, for some reason the projectiles explode more reliably than the charges even if this has improved from how it used to be where charges would never explode

“Is tHIs oNe PIxEL?”
No, it isn’t one pixel, it’s the entire side armor array being fired at by DM43.

again between the ERA and the track, with either of them having a chance to randomly eat your round, and at that angle there are only a few pixels that wont hit either

Nothing has ever eaten my round on an idler wheel shot when using DM43 or better, and potentially DM33 or better.
There are more places to pen than there are places that eat rounds.
That angle is several thousand pixels, not just a few.

the charges do not explode as reliably as the projectiles do

its not as bad as it used to be where they didnt explode at all but it still tends to be better to hit projectiles than charges

ty, btw what do charges even do or what is it used for

Charges also known as propellants are the ‘initial boom’ shooting the ammo out of the cannon, while the warhead is the main thing that pierce armor or explodes objects.

Or else focus on the spot between the ERA plates and the chassis, it reads shoot at an angle in the tracks may cause enough damage to knock out the tank, this, for me is the most reliable spot when dealing with late sovietic vehicles due to the thin side armor and angled performance of an APDS-FS.

How do abrams and leopards then shoot without charges

they have one piece ammo, so charge and projectile are the same thing

In the case of sovietic vehicles requires separated charges from warhead to reduce fatigue on the autoloader, however in Abrams and Leopards, similars as well, the entire ammunition is one thing: the charge and warhead is in the same piece letting for easier loading proccess. While there are exceptions such as Challenger that highly reduces the warhead size and still using charges to load, yet being a manual loaded vehicle, it’s a subjective matter, this is the best justification in my opinion.

The back half should’ve detonated the ammo, just bias atp

The warhead part of Russian shells also carries propellant

Ohhh damn ok so the ammo itself doesnt explode on most of the tanks expect for the abrams etc so the only the charges explode got it
