If only that was the case. Everyone likes to moan about the reverse speed and gun depression which are indeed cons but matter little when the majority of the maps you don’t need gun depression for and are designed so the Russians can essentially just hold W, point and click and win.
Setting aside the fact their armor layouts overperform and other things, the fact remains that often throughout the BR range, Russians have the most tanks to work with in layouts compared to just about everyone else, especially in BR ranges where it really counts. 9.7-10.3 and even the 9.3-10.3BR range being one of those zones.

I voted for APHE to be reworked to be more realistic, personally. It was crazy how so many have complained about APHE over the years being a nuke shell and then when we finally have a chance to change it they completely fumble the ball.

No, it’s 10.7 worthy just like the Leo 2 and Abrams. If you can’t handle the Turms being at 10.7 then folks just have skill issue and rely too much on the Bias code from Gaijin to do the work for them and those folks need to actually learn how to play.
To be fair, NATO tanks have several modeling issues that have been way overdue for correcting completely aside from any BR pains. it’s not a buff for them if Ivan vehicles that genuinely deserve it get their BR raised.

Without reverse you can never win 1v2 properly, holding W to win only works if your entire team does the same and than it’s a skill issue in matchmaker not faction balance, because defense ALWAYS beats offense in this game. It’s literally impossible for an attacker to fire first and you die in 1 hit in this game.
Without their armor, they would be literally useless, you stated yourself that they have big disadvantage, take away their only ‘advantage’ and they have nothing (speak nothing about 2A5 derivatives having far superior armor at endgame anyway)
I play every faction and RU tank are some of the worst that force a god awful playstyle unless you are a squad andy and want to jump into CAS fast (first 3 min of game after rush death)
You don’t really need reverse to win a 1v2 unless you got yourself in a bad position to begin with, and 9 times out of 10 you’re already dead regardless so needing reverse is a moot point.
As for the armor, I’m not saying it shouldn’t exist - I’m saying it needs to be corrected and not have values that it shouldn’t have in the first place. Same goes for every other tank in the game. As it stands, their armor overperforms compared to IRL capabilities and that needed to be rectified years ago. Otherwise, the BR needs to go up. And yes, I’m aware of the 2A5 gang - However, I didn’t start the topic about that BR range, not that it’s all that relevant anyways since surprise, surprise - Sweden and Germany often get paired with Russia so everyone else gets to deal with having poor chance of winning those matches.

Yeah, I agree. APHE being the way it is is pretty dumb and Gaijin completely modeled it and it was ready for implementation and the no skill German and USSR mains just said “nah”

Yes, they phase out APHE later than anyone else, but in general most nations that aren’t France or UK would be fairly equally affected, especially at tiers where APHE is the main round.
