Let’s break it down by the numbers, setting aside the fact that armor values and armor packages for Russian T-series are overperforming amongst other things.
Ahem
By the numbers for 9.7-10.3BR…
Russia has 5 MBTs between 9.7-10.3BR
3 Tech Tree - T-64B, T-72B and the 72B 1989 mod
2 Prem - T-72AV Turms and T-80UD
Now, how does everyone else stack up?
USA has only 1 " MBT " - Glorified Tank Destroyer really, but anyways…
Tech tree - 120S
Germany also has only one MBT
Tech tree - Leopard 2K
Britain has 2
Tech tree - Challenger Mk. 2 and the TTD
Japan - Absolutely ZERO
China has 2 MBT options
Tech tree - ZTZ96A
Prem - 96A Prototype
Italy - Like Japan, ZERO
France has only 1 option with essentially no supporting line-up, by the way…
Tech tree - AMX-40
Sweden - Like Italy and Japan, ZERO
Isreal has 2 options just like China, but both are 9.7
Tech tree - Sabra Mk. 1
Prem - Merkava Mk. 2D
As you can see, anyone playing Russia in the 9.7-10.3BR range has an atrocious advantage over EVERY other nation when it comes to MBT access per match, even if you take the premium options entirely out of the equation. It’s an absolute bogus move on Gaijin’s part that such an unbalanced clustershow is allowed to continue to perpetrate and is absolutely disrespectful to the playerbase.
The solution is easily solved by three things;
- Uptiering the 10.3 Russian MBTs to 10.7 - Some of them like the T-80UD and Turms should absolutely be 10.7, for immediate example
- Downtier the prior uptiered NATO tanks like the Abrams and Leopard 2
- Introduce new MBTs for the nations lacking current options if they have options that will fill the gap and provide on-par performance.
The only other option is to give up playing any other nation but Russia, but everyone knows that’s just cringe and a copout. Gaijin needs to get off their hands and actually start giving a proper damn about game balance. And just for the record, for those that may want to bring the 9.3 MBTs into the argument - Russia still has the most access to MBTs between 9.3-10.3BR by the way, so it’s still very much Russian Bias incarnate.
