I mean, every tank can make a “gaijin momento” when a shell that should penn just do a hit.
And yeah, not the greatest tank of all, but is how the game works that make their damage model so anoying, it is just a lottery and it is not an issue of aiming better cause one have to aim better but the other one has to point center mass.
I have made a post requesting an Ammo Box for the Namer before stating this exact thing.
Wish it wasn’t bugged though. It’s not working well right now.
Agreed.
The only issue that the vehicle has is its rear mobility and lack of thermals, which the T-72B3 struggles with as well. No vehicle at 9.7 should fight it either. My T-80UM2 also lacks thermals and has an APS and dominates that BR bracket. The engine might make it slower than other T-80U models overall, but it hardly matters with that ERA.
These tanks are horrible in War Thunder. Spike is useless and AC based tanks are very weak outside of a select few that are legit 2.0 br lower and fight different enemy types.
Lol. The Namer is complete garbage, it’s not even worth 9.3. Therefore, the BMP-2M could even go down.
This is why I love this forum, take break 5-6 weeks, come back and hundreds more comedy posts like this one.
Ammo box should be helpful but it still doesn’t fix the flaw this vehicle has in WT. It stores all ammo in the turret to protect the crew, so all of your extra ammo will get shot out just as easily.
I’d say BR reduction should be more impactful.
Plenty of vehicles there have DM23 120mm equivalent in penetration so I don’t see why not. 80UD doesn’t look on par with 90A to me.
It’s very similar to T-72B (1989) but gets better reload and acceleration.
First shot was weird but as it didn’t even trigger the ERA I can’t pin it to K5.
As for other two shots, I don’t know if ERA gets better when angled, but even in the protection analysis M774 struggles to pen the sides at similar angles, which in return creates very little post pen damage.
I think this comes down to M774 being sub par when facing ERA with some KE protection.
I haven’t really experienced that weird damage model all that often to be honest. I’ve been tracking the shots that went through the autoloader and disabling it. Guess what, my dart passed through the empty part of it and didn’t hit any ammo.
Reverse is hardly important on a vehicle with that ERA. There’s a reason why even the T-90M is a monster at its BR despite having a horrible reverse gear and reload rate. When you can recklessly tank shots, you don’t need to run away.
And that T-80UD should NOT be there either. Both vehicles are WAY too low in BR. The T-80B is inferior to them and shouldn’t be at the same BR or higher.
The T-90A has worse targeting and a worse reload. The shell performance is artificially worse only because the UD doesn’t get 3BM46, which the T-90A shouldn’t have, and needs to be a 10.3.
The slewing speed of the gun. The T-80 has superior targeting performance.
That’s the entire point. Russian ERA is not SLERA and shouldn’t withstand an impact several times. ERA doesn’t function like that. It’s one use. Period.
SLERA is the only exception and Gaijin has refused to model in in-game for years on the Merkava Mk.4 series.
