Russian bias is usually an excuse of bad players, so that kind of checks out. Also I stopped focusing on the M1 because your overall stats show a similar picture of you being mid.
You were the one calling people re-re if they did bad with X nation, so don’t play the victim card when people point out that you are bad at the game too.

Hes a bit of moron more like, strela is not a manpad, and I guarantee you if stingers got buffed and were on par or better than the strela and got moved up to 10.3 he would be crying about that too.
I get stingers are not modeled right and are underperforming, but I like my gepard at 9.7 its a whole hell of a lot more effective there than its gonna be at 10.3. If its gets buffed to realistic levels you are gonna be stuck with total ass SPAA like russia does at 9.x, I guess US will have the M247 at least.
If you want to compare russian vs NATO manpads the K stinger takes a dump all over the igla its not even close, even in its unrealistic/nerfed state.

None of these sales are even good, 30% is a slap in the face. The only “”“good”“” thing that you get out of these sales is stuff that’s removed and only comes around and you are paying full price for them.
They even did the russia armed forces sale which was 30% on vehicles that pretty much all went on 50% sale like 2 weeks later, its more a fleecing than something to look forward too.

There is still the FIM-92A, which would only get partial improvements (lacks hard data for the Seeker, but is generally 5km vs 8~9km + UV Optical Contrast channel for POST seeker variants [-92B and later]) that they could downgrade the systems too if the BR was truly an issue. Which to some degree it isn’t since most SPAA should come down to make it harder for CAS anyway I 'd be all for rebalancing them around this though.
It’s really not since the Igla gets it’s “English bias” maneuver for whatever reason (Sparrows & AMRAAMs should be similar) and so has much superior off bore capabilities.

Basically what happens is that it almost immediately upon launch performs a maneuver to zero out the angular rate error in the missiles heading before accelerating greatly simplifying the intercept course it flies.
You can also see it in the engagement, it’s certainly not coming out of the tube, straight.
Using personal stats is the best way to see if someone is just throwing around random BS because of his biases.

Your stats in USSR vehicles are pretty much in line with your account average performance, so how come you didn’t get that biased, handheld experience ?
If your stats backed up your claims I might’ve believed you’re talking from experience and not just parroting some decade old “arguments” as they suit your narrative.
ZSU’s missile has literally that single advantage over the current Stinger, meanwhile it has loads of cons, so saying Stinger isn’t way better overall is quite a bit wrong.
So yeah, if you solely engage planes from 0-500m away that are flying perpendicular to you then ZSU’s Igla is better.
There are definitely a multitude of common scenarios where the Stinger falls well short of what it should be, especially where you don’t have a solely retreating of approaching target to deal with. Which is much more useful for a conventional “SAM-bush” tactics, and performing wide area defense.
I’d love to by buying rope from you by the meter, at those distances even guns are going to struggle.
It’s the ~1.8-4 km, and beyond that there is still the Strela as an option which even the later Stingers don’t hold a candle to, as they are and even then still have sub-par kinematics in comparison even if they were faithfully modeled.
I was comparing it to the Igla found on the ZSU.
At those ranges Stingers are still better than what ZSU’s Igla offers.
Remember, Strela sits at 10.3 while Stingers can be found as low as 9.3.
And as high as? Don’t forget it’s basically the only option that many nations have in that range, it shouldn’t only be a comparison on the low end, it does after all have to pull double duty.
Since we don’t get access to systems like the FIM-43 Redeye or early / man-portable Strelas (though with the recent multi-crew additions it’s certainly an interesting option (e.g. BFAS / M6 linebacker being able to deploy dismounted launchers crews) to fill out the need for lower spec BR 8.X SAM options).
10.3 I believe ?
Some have inferior systems at 9.3/9.7, while others do at 10.3 but that’s sadly an effect from having so many different nations and BRs to cater to.
