Russian Bias in 2025?

yes and stinger should be better but it isnt, because Gaijin thinks: If looks similar how can be better? (oversimplified)

In not gonna go into an argument again why a 46k tons 406mm Lion class is no comparison to the absurdity that is Soyuz. And Lion is not in the game maybe Soyuz would be more acceptable if we got it alongside Lion and H39

its not about KH38MT being strong, its about its addition to the game and to the SU30SM based on flimsy sources that would not be accepted usually

And how did they choose to address it…
Not by removing it, but by making SPAA massively powercrept.

Same logic can be applied to the Pantsir, why bring one vehicle into line with the rest when we can just massively shift the matchmaker and make people grind a whole 400k+

That’s kind of disingenuous however - they are not similar. Correlation does not equate to causation.

That’s like me saying ‘100% of people who eat broccoli later go on to die. Ergo, Broccoli kills them.’

Counterpoint - lots of players who are skilled will point at the Kh-38/Soyuz/Kamov/whatever broken toy is currently causing havoc and say ‘that’s bias in action.’ Or do they not count because you don’t agree with them?

It seems to me that basically there are two camps with a lot of space in-between -

  1. Favouritism IS a thing in War Thunder and it DOES tend towards the RU tech-tree.

  2. No Russian bias exists. No problems at all.

You cannot dismiss one side wholesale as being ‘less-skilled’ because there are examples of good/bad players in both camps. That’s basically not debating the argument, just sniping at the person making the point.

Otherwise, we could point at Oh-No Straining and say that because he plays nothing but Arcade at top tier - all those who think Russian bias isn’t a thing can’t play the game properly. It’s a kiddie’s game mode - but I’m not lumping everyone who disagrees with me into that boat.

Plainly many of those I regularly clash with on this subject can play the game better than me, many play worse. It doesn’t change my personal view of whether some tech trees get more toys and handholding.

I mean go check the stats of everyone who whines about Russian bias and the overwhelming majority is mid at best at the game (and in a lot of cases calling them mid is being generous).

I will admit that the worse players are usually on the more extreme end of Russian bias discussion. For example the people complaining about Russian MBTs supposedly surviving full side shots all the time are usually the not very good players.

The ‘debate’ was one of Gaijin’s making.

A report was filed that the Stinger should be capable of increased G performance. Gaijin came back - in the form of a web-page article - that the Igla and the Stinger appeared similar visually.

Hence, their logic was that the Stinger could not have a better performance than the Igla.

Their article - MANPADS Missiles and Overload: The Technical Details - Official News, Development Blogs and Updates - War Thunder — official forum

I quote - "For other MANPADS systems, open sources indicate a higher overload such as 18, 20 and even 25g in the case of the Mistral 1 MANPADS. However, these MANPADS systems have only slight differences in the area of aerodynamic surfaces compared to the 9M39, so a multiple increase in average achievable overload compared to the 9M39 cannot be expected. "

Hence, the meme was born. The Igla is Crap - hence anything that looks like the Igla must be Crap also.

Another one of those totally isolated incidents (of which there are more than a few)…

Then a counter is to check a section of players who complain about US or French or Swedish vehicles. I suspect you’ll find a similar rogues gallery of players you don’t want too many of on your team.

That is also true (except for the Leopard 2A7/122s, they are just too good for 12.0).

Single nation mains that aren’t very good generally have this “grass is always greener on the other side” and they act like if they had the tools of said other nation they would suddenly do well in the game. It’s so frustrating to deal with.

There is this saying in english I believe along the lines of “a good workman never blames their tools” which applies to those cases.

So you are just ignoring the whole post?

0 balanc is now in toptier vs russia for example i start with heli"tiger uht" and mi28 fire missile on me from enemy heli spone but u no have chance because is from 10 km good luck most unbalanced update ever…

As I said depends on BR.
It could be good but it’s big has that good old reverse speed issue
Fire power is decent but it has no turret armour negating the power of the hull.

SPAA needed to be powercrept.
CLAWS is the MINIMUM needed to deal with F-15E, Rafale, Su-34, etc.
Pantsir, CS/SA5, Spyder, Tan-SAM Kai, and Elde aren’t enough.

LMUR with 20kg TNT overpressuring better than Maverick with 50kg XD

Well it’s been programed to loft correctly and aim directly for turret weakspots (cupolas, hatches and ammo racks), while everyone else gets piss poor guidance

Not even

what u got?:D

Fnf missiles are coded to go for a random module of whatever it is fired at

You can see it the best when you spam some fnf missiles at the ships in the test drive and observe what they are targeting

They changed that around a year ago iirc, before that fnf missiles always went for center of mass

Well perhaps gaijin could make it so that my spikes don’t aim for the modules protected by the absolute thickest part of any given tank’s armour next time

if you think that gaijin is that competent then you are overestimating them
