You do know what you are trying to communicate with, right?
Guess someone doesn’t know that he doesn’t need to shoot directly at the helicopter…
Yes, just as we’ve had 4 years of NATO CAS domination until these new SPAA systems.
Ka-50’s dominated for a <3 month time span around the time of their introduction before everyone got SPAA and Vikhrs got nerfed 2 times in that period.
I play all 10 tech trees and know Russian bias never existed in War Thunder.
You know the ka50 can just move their beam down into the path of the incoming munition right?
The only spaa which that trick doesnt work on is the Stormer which has been in varying states of perpetually broken since it was added and artificially nerfed.
And to try out missile spamming a ka 50 you realistically need more than 4 missiles per launch vehicle, How many non Russian SAMs have that many tubes? Adats, ITO and the Stormer. And even then the heli pilot will just salvo off more missiles than you could realistically use.
You know that’s much easier said than done against a missile travelling at above 1000m/s, right ?
Its very easy to do. You just have to be paying attention to MAWs and the massive smoke trail flying towards your heli.
Then again most ka50/52/mi28 players struggle to think and breathe at the same time so yea.
Until the missile flying at you isn’t flying straight and you’re trying to intercept it. I don’t think you’re getting it.
But then you survive because KA50 survives 15 missiles and is also immune to spikes.
Yes, trying to proxy fuze incoming missiles is just a waste of time as your helicopter eats those for dinner.
Reminder that the only reason that the current russian WRs are terrible is because of the premium T-80 which has the most games of any tank in the game played and a 40% WR.
You remove that tank from the calc and their win rate goes back up to around 48% so right in line with the US.
All Soviet 11.7 T-80U, T-72B3, T-80UK have 40% winrate for august removing T-80UE-1 with 41% winrate has no effect.
The highest recorded WR in August for 11.7/12.0 RU vehicles is 44%, so I doubt you’ll get back to 48% by doing literally anything.
Since this patch, I’ve fought little to no CAS at all, from the russian side at least.
I thought playing the BVM and Pantsir would be a decent enough combo to grind the BUK, since I could just run airspace denial upon dying in the BVM, but instead I have spent 15+ plus matches doing absolutely nothing besides the rare MQ1 or premium jet.
It seems everyone is scared to fly CAS in the current BUK/Pantsir meta, and to that I say fair enough
Talking about Pantsir meta when things like SLM exist is extremely naive.
Pantsir can’t be countered by a laser pointer can it, besides I said BUK/Pantsir because they fulfill different roles, and are both part of a literal IADS in grb matches, Pantsir deals with SHORAD and munitions, while BUK is a long range CAS deterrence, having 1 of each on your team is enough to close the airspace
No, but it can be countered by the sheer range those helicopters operate from.
Pantsir currently can deal with bottom of the barrel players and Hellfire slingers, that’s about it.
Pantsir is a hard-counter to helis wtf are you on about, you can permanently keep them evading wirh your 24 missiles and 20km range, especially considering how flat the map rotation is rn
Pantsir could barely counter old FnF helicopters that had 8km missiles. Nowadays against things like 64E with 16km missiles it’s pretty much useless. Your 24 missiles are quickly expended considering you’re fighting helicopters that can carry 16 missiles at the time, of course if you’re interested in actually doing your job which is, by your own admission, shooting down ordnance.
You’re also failing to consider that most matches, there are 2-3 pantsirs (soon BUKs too) spawned at the time of most of the ‘scary’ CAS being spawned, even with the assumption that 1 of those pantsirs has absolutely no clue how to operate their radar, theres still a reasonable chance that he’ll just fire in whatever the other one is, doubling the chance of interception.
Iris-T is an extremely capable system, but there is simply no way you can claim it’s better than a combined BUK and Pantsir (with a 90% chance of occuring with high russian team population), especially now that it can’t reliably deal with the 2nd best CAS platform in game (Mi-28NM)
The Buk is cool but as of right now it behaves like a semi active missile, the moment it loses lock it just schizoes around. It’s maybe 50% of what the IRST is, beside that it’s fun to play when you’re not getting sniped across the map…
