An outright lie considering that you don’t need experience in GRB to prove your statement is false. This can easily be proven false bringing them into a test drive. The 2A42 is the best cannon for helicopter. Better rounds, highly accurate, and has can hit targets much farther.
You’re probably not gonna test it so here’s what I’ve noticed:
Ka52/Mi28: 6ish km
Rooivalk & Z-10: 3.5ishkm
Apache & Eurocopter: 3.1ish km
Viper/other m197 platforms: 3ish km
Again, that .77K/D is only for only ground kills. It’s .99K/D for ground + air which is a more accurate representation of what this can do.
Even then, it’s not too far from my average K/D. For a vehicle that is not meant to go toe to toe with MBTs, it was extremely good when it came out because of how highly survivable it was. Even now it has decent stats for a premium that has gone on sale multiple times.
Correct but that’s mainly because the Ka52 doesn’t have LDIRCM. The Mi28NM is better because it completely counters the new spaas where as the FnF helis cannot and will most likely be killed the moment they are spotted.
all these cannons except for the russian ones suck. they are only usable against air targets, but even that is overshadowed by the 2A42.
@HondaCivici
I understand your perspective and accept it.
The lowest penetration of 30mm HEDP is 50.Xmm [angled armor]. It only increases [maybe marginally] as it gets slower.
On top of that it’s 28.2 grams of filler, which while not a lot, that is enough to cause significant post-pen damage for the round’s size.
A smaller faster more accurate AH-1G 40mm round. Hehehe.
In comparison 30mm AP-T pens a maximum of 65mm as a solid projectile.
And APDS pens a maximum of 82mm [62mm angled] as a shatter-able round with even less post-pen comparing to AP-T.
Neither are particularly useful in GRB these days, but both cannons were a few of my GRB frags back in 2021 during my learning.
The Apache’s 30mm remains my favorite helicopter cannon, there is no 2nd place for me.
I will say this, I would take the 2A42 over all other conventional helicopter guns though except maybe the AH-1W’s 2x rotary pylons with Hellfires.
No, but you need to think about the whole story. It’s a support vehicle for a BR range full of players that are not able to be supported because they’ve one death left before you can even say the word support. Look at your winrate in the 2S38. Terrible. Mine is not much better. Well below what I get with BRs on either side of it for USSR. There’s more to the story, that’s for sure.
Ofc we are going to ignore the following advantages of the vikhir:
-More than 2.5 times the range
-nearly double the speed
-can be spammed in groups because it’s bean riding
-highly effective against helicopters and somewhat effective against planes
But other than that, yeah, it’s basically a tow. Just ignore everything but one cherry picked stat and they are the same.
Just like the F104 is basically a F15E because they can hit mach 2 at high altitude.
As for the better SPAA part, congratulations, after a year or so of Russia both having the best cas and SPAA, SU34 mains have to use their brain for once.
As for the DIRCM and DLIRCM claims: once again, maybe test shit before spouting nonsense.
Then again, you think that the Mig29 has a better flight model than the mirage 2000 and you keep proving again and again that you don’t even have a basic understanding of the games mechanics.
How about you use some. Look at the winrate overall for the Turms, its partner in crime. Terrible premium players with no lineups, one death leavers, USSR getting crushed at 10.3 (lowest winrate of all nations here). It’s not the damn vehicles. It’s the players. And the good players who do jump in the 2S38 are hampered by the loss of their team in the first few minutes of the game. A support vehicle needs a solid foundation to support, and USSR 10.3 has none of that. I won’t even touch that terrible BR for USSR.
@Grossaaaa
Thanks for repeating my exact take on Vikhirs from 2022.
This isn’t 2022 anymore, they cannot be spammed.
There isn’t heli PVP making the highly effective against helicopters moot.
The other two are still true which is why I said the Vikhir is longer range and faster. Glad you agree with me entirely about those two facts.
Also the Mirage 2000 has a superior flight model to the Mig-29 and always has.
I even battled against others proving my claim that the Mirage 2000 is better than the Mig-29.
If you think I’m wrong about Mirage 2000 we can fight right now and I’ll quickly prove to you that information has always been correct.
Mirage 2000 > Mig-29. - Me, since 2022.
You have 10.3 premium lineup. People play with 3 vehicles.
T-80UD is doing good.
and trums with 2s38 are doing bad. Same people, different vehicle.
Same thing with people here on forum - we have here a lot of skilled players who do good with all kind of vehicles. Yet everybody here is doing bad with 2s38.
There was ONE (1) person here who posted positive K/D in it.
bUt iT’S sUpPoRT VeHiCLe - you all literally were screaming how 2S38 is decimating all MBTs and that it is overpowered death machine, and now it “nEeDs sOLiD fOuNdATiOn”? Get real.
Not many USSR vehicles around 10.3 are very good into M1s and 2A4s, and the support USSR gets scales into the T-80B and T-90A, neither are stellar vehicles themselves. Yes I’ve seen some special creatures playing the TURMS AV and the 2S38 has to be played like a hyper-aggressive wumbo to get the value from the 57mm while being made of cardboard and explodium-concentrate.
Of course the 2S38 (and BMD (and BMP-2M)) are complained about the most because they’re overrepresented, they’re more fun than trying to compete with NATO race cars in streetfights with a 7.1 sec reload and the gun handling of a battleship.
