Thats almost like the thing I’ve been harping on this entire time. People here have kept trying to solely compare the vehicles as is, omitting the superior tactics and experience that certain nation’s crews have.
The Marine M60s did not win because they had better equipment, they succeeded in their attack against a numerically superior foe through both the skill of the USMC tankers and the superior tactics and strategy employed by coalition forces. By comparison, Iran’s armor was critically misused and suffered terribly due to it.
I am in total agreeance, armor is only as effective as it’s crew, tactics employed and it’s support.
It is, and he knows because he also cried about the change in relation to the Magic 2 in the Rafale thread, but since he also wanted to cry about russian bias he decided to come here.
Essentially he’s not happy about actually having to work to defeat these missiles now.
“relating to or done by all people or things in the world or in a particular group; applicable to all cases.”
Had they actioned some of the Aim9M reports there would be no issue. We can all agree the 9M is the weaker of the IRCCM missiles and was slowly falling behind.
R-73 is behaving pretty close to a diluted IRIS-T they are very hard to flare. Managed to flare 1 yesterday out of 6+ shot at me in various games. With how good they are at very short range they are pretty much a kill.
The 9M on the other hand is very easy to defeat as it doesnt pull as hard, defeating it kinematically is the simplest option. It’s not a threat unless you play against a poor player, they are flat out ignoring you or you send multiple with a 120 too.
Increasing the lock on range and buffing the flare rejection would help.
If not the IRIS-T then no reason not to have the inferior 9X
Sim is a very different game mode, ground battles 9M is also far scarier.
It’s air RB where I play the most and the missile having the (diamond) smokeless motor that doesnt help.
It’s hitting some crazy close range shots now, thats why I said diluted.
You can outrun them on the deck I have done it in a Typhoon, I have seen a Su-27 and F-15 do the same.
Front aspect a puff of flares will guarantee you dont die and preflaring while turning forces the missile to shut off its seeker and it cannot pull the G to recover.
Which is why it kinda sucks close range, which is fine if it had the extended lock on range.
I dont consider the 9M a bad missile, just it’s flexibility drops off compared to the R-73 and Magic 2
