They have to fact-check as well as determine severity of the issue compared to other issues.
13km won’t change ADATS being useless, but the explosive filler will change damage to helicopters.

Stats were showing Ka-50s dying, much like how stats showed F-16Cs dying to Pantsir despite F-16C being unkillable when used corrected.

That’s just not true. Having a greater range to track targets means you can fire ahead in anticipation so when the target reaches the 10km range, the missile will probably be half-way there.
It’s not going to make the ADATS good but it’s still an improvement nevertheless

Either way, helicopters will always be in range, and fixed-wing will never get in range.
Yes, this would only help a little bit against helicopters.
The ADATS’ missiles already struggles past ~8km, so at 14km they won’t hit any jets at all.
Targets doesn’t mean just aircraft. It also means A2G weaponry. Agms, Gbus, etc, it gives you more time to react against them
I would rather lock onto a Kh38 when it’s 13km than if it’s 10km
Why I love helicopters so much ) I love when they can see my pilots grin clearly and they love how easy it is for me to die as a result. It’s a win for me and a win for them.
I wouldn’t say underwhelming as it’s the best top end heli in the US tree and in the right hands can be very good at CAP. Much better than the AH-64D is that is for sure. With that said we can still do work just not as good as others and that is ok with me as long as it isn’t night and day difference between helis. I dont own the KA-50 and after test driving it a little I know I wont ever own it because it would be too much fun. If I could just borrow that gun it has for a littlebit and throw it on a US heli and you’d likely never see me in forums again. If only Gaijin could finally give the MH-60L DAP guns working gun convergence that heli would finally have its proper identity being different from the other two options US has with its two 30mm LR30 cannons which are much better than the apache but currently are useless as they fire way too wide and you cant fix it with gun convergence. Almost a year now I’ve been waiting for them to fix after reporting it.

That’s my point though, TV/IR trackers give you no warning until they hit you, sure a longer flight time may give some extra chances to lose its LOS on you (which is one of the reasons I prefer urban maps) but it’s more dumb luck than anything. At least laser guided weapons give you a LWRS alert so you have a chance to try to smoke or hide.
I’m not trying to defend the Kh38, I’m just pointing out that removing it won’t solve the ATGM spam as it was an issue long before Kh38 was added. And that if bias is involved it CAS bias more than Russia bias,
it should also make it more reliable in bad weather and on hard to lock targets
and now despite entering service less than 20 years ago its RWR cant identify a number of the threats it sees in ground RB

At least when it was S-24 rockets the pilot had to lesrn to aim.
Anyone and I mean anyone could spawn in a KH-38 carrier press 2 buttons and achieve 3+ kills.
The same can be said for an AGM-65 carrier although the mavericks are much slower.
