No one is getting anything more powerful that Pantsir because no SHORAD system exists that is superior to it.
I think HVSD/ADAMS (that was suggested a million times) and Type 625E (which is oftenly called as a “Chinese copy of Pantsir”) can compete with Pantsir
That could work so that would give China and Russia as the only nations with SHORAD systems.

NASAAMs could work, but it would still be inferior to Pantsir.
You can chaff a 120 you cannot use counter measures for a Pantsir.
The same with British ASRAAM and German IRIS-T SLM.
Well it depends what BR you’re talking about and what nation you’re facing. Lets take the Mavericks for example as it’s the most common agm out there.
At the 9.3 (if we include the walleyes, there essentially mavs without a motor and bigger HE) to 10.3br, there at it’s strongest, there’s not many decent spaa that can intercept them. The closest you can get is probably the osa but even then it struggles to react against pop up attacks.
At 10.7 to 11.7 it’s tricky to say how good it is because it depends on the nation you face. Only 6 of the 10 nations have the ability to take down mavericks
- USA: ADATS (11.7)
- Germany: FlaRakRad (11.7)
- Russia: 2S6 (10.7)
- Britain: ADATS (11.7)
- China: Tor (11.0), HQ17 (11.3)
- Italy: OTOMATIC (11.3)
However having that ability doesn’t mean it’s effective. Of the 6 nations, only 1 can be seen as effective, the 2S6. Here’s why:
- ADATS: though it’s reaction time and interception capabilities are good, it cannot identify and slave it’s sight to targets. This is what hold back the ADATS a lot.
- FlaRakRad: though it’s reaction time, identify/interception capabilities is good, you only get 2 missiles before having to reload. It will struggle against multiple munitions.
- Tor/HQ17: to put it frankly, it’s one of the worst spaa at top tier. It has okay missiles but it cannot react to threats fast enough let alone within a close range.
- OTOMATIC: do I have to explain?
The 2S6 is the only one to be effective at intercepting mavericks.
- 8 missiles (good against agms. meh against planes, depending on what BR)
- fast reaction time
- can identify targets and slave it’s sight
- has guns (it’s something I wouldn’t depend on but it’s better having it than not)
- mobile
At 12.0, those spaa can easily deal with them pretty easily.
As mentioned before the lies in what nations are in your side, the nations that you’re against and the BR.
If you’re playing with Russia @ >=10.7, you’ll most likely not have a problem with mavericks. If you’re not, mavericks will be a pain to deal with.
There is hope though. While mavericks launched within 5km can be deadly, mavericks launched farther than 10km tend to be easy to deal with. The nations I mentioned early on (including the OSA) can deal with them quite easily. With a combination of manpads and SAMs, it’s possbile that you can defend your airspace but it requires teamwork.
The point I’m making is yes, you can make an argument that is it a problem in 9.3-10.3, but it’s debatable for 10.7-11.7 and hard to make that argument for top tier.
The issue that I have with the Kh-38, is that there’s no equivalent system and there’s no spaa that can deal with them. You can maybe say the same for the Hammers but they are pretty slow making them interceptable.
Regardless, the main issue is the amount of CAS in one game.

my ass spamming my lock button to try lock a kh-38mt in clear weather(bro why does it twerking out like crazy… ah fuck im dead)
also maverick is easy to intercept because its slow and somehow lock better than kh-38mt(tested myself)
Kh-29 has half the range and no IR channel.

U can use PGZ09 to intercept mavericks. It might be crazy, but it does work.

Sergent York works pretty good as well. It’s just that it’s the only thing it’s good at in top tier.

Definitely. Even though it is one of the most unacceptable imbalances of gaming history that they have had the Pantsir without any equivalents for so long, I am still for having equality among capabilities.
It wouldn’t break my heart too bad though if they were left in the dust for 2-3 years like everyone else has been though. Pretty soon Russia is going to run out of new toys to add though. Pantsir is a 2012 system fighting against 1980’s aircraft and spaa.

IRL sure, but despite irl having much better seekers in game I find them much easier to notch+chaff than R77
Countermeasures advance along with the missile…
not really, they definitily have not advanced as much as missile seekers, and thats including ECM. Chaff is still a very simple concept
but in game AMRAAM seeker is very much under preforming along with agility so unless they fix those even the later ones wont be much better for GBAD
To be fair, these are still far more advanced in the game. Newest we have ingame is the B which IIRC isn’t all too much of an upgrade over the As, but the C-7? I think? That the SL-AMRAAM would be using would be miles better
