The gameplay of the helicopters.
Cuz a roof top MG ain’t a fix position? ^^"
Do you want to restrict roof top MGs to a specific arc?
currently roof turrets can be used from several point around a turret.
most of them requires someones to be on the tank itself, or the commaner to be out.
currently impossible to see which man (infantry or Commander)-> no reason to limit it
even less reason when considering that many complains about the Pseudo-CAS spam and them claiming that they’re “having no weapons to counter” such so-called spam.
and finally, if you want a nerf of such MG,… please 1st verify that what you say is wrong → go to a museum,… most of them use replica or disarmed expo models.
do it like 5 or 10 times, to train yourself in, then chrono yourself.
you have no proofs of those being Overpowered in any ways right now, and Gaijin only takes reports into account, when those are verified.
There’s no magic in the way the turret roof mounted MGs are performing in WT. They don’t “turn too fast”. They move in game pretty much just like they move IRL…
I mean I’ve yet to see an MG be operated by ghosts, but if you say so.
You must not have ever used a .50 on a turret mount. When we had M240Bs and M2s, on our HMMWVs with turret rings, you could whip it around quite easily.
Most nations have access to roof .50s, not just America. Russia has DSHKs on a wide variety of their tanks, as well as 14.5mm KPVTs on several. Same goes for China. Japan and Israel have tons, Italy has a few, and there are a few scattered throughout other lines. The only nations that don’t have them consistently are the British, German and Swedish lines. And even they often have some kind of .30 caliber machine gun they can use to shoot at low flying aircraft.
Lack of SPAA at a BR =/= “I don’t have a rooftop MG”
I have over 2000 games as helicopters, I don’t need further evidence of rooftop machine gun efficacy.
Certainly, while fully exposed.
US by far has the strongest MG defense against AA, Germany has practically nothing to protect themselves, their MGs are incapable of doing damage anyways and they very often have close to no elevation.
Russia the main other one with some options, the rest gets limited options, especially at lower BRs.
Not at all, they had gunshields on the HMMWVs. But if you’re referencing how they are used in Warthunder, them moving with noone manning them, then you have an unrealistic expectation of how Warthunder operates. Nothing about Warthunder ground is realistic, and the MGs being operated without someone on them is just a feature that makes things much simpler for the devs that doesn’t have a serious effect on gameplay.
You know that MGs mounted on the roof have limited angles meaning that if air user is just not bad You won’t be able to kill him?
Helicopters do not need any buffs. This affects more than just helicopters too.
Then they can just disable them, even simpler for devs to not have to worry about that.
Kinda seems like some people forget that “Remote Controlled” did exist back in WW2 it was just more basic in the contraption and not common. Not related but thought it would be interesting to know.
Why disable them? Get rif of useful weapons for hundreds of vehicles? That doesn’t really make sense because they do serve useful purposes. Disabling them would have a serious impact on gameplay at all levels for ground battles.
If you’re refering to the cold war to modern Japan yes however that its primarily 7.7 LMG’s
I mean it would impact one nation primarily whilst overall creating a more balanced experience.
Why would it be more balanced? Because USA wouldn’t have the .50 cal? Dropping them for all the nations would mean that no vehicles would have AA weaponry other than AA. That wouldn’t be good at all.
