I proposed a similar concept a couple of months ago, but for FOB’s to work, maps would have to be larger to make room for them. They should exist a couple of hundreds of meters away from the base spawn so that players don’t have to fall back all the way back to base to resupply.

It would also be nice if players could spawn in FOB’s too (if they are not taken or overwhelmed by the enemy team) so that players have the base spawn to avoid being spawn killed at FOB’s.

They are not better because Gaijins game design is incompatible with them. You have to get into cqc combat in order to capture a point, and you often have to camp to defend it (on larger maps).

CAS is much stronger on large, open maps, than it is in small city maps, due to the cover the buildings provide.

My point is that Gaijin can’t design a decent long range map.

You didn’t clarify which mode you were talking about, so I gave my perspective based on RB.

A tank shouldn’t “build” anything, it should radio an NPC plane to pass by and drop it by parachute, or leave an NPC truck in the desired location, these being capable of being shot down by enemies

Then why assume a mode when none is given?

Of course this change would be mainly for immmersion, sooo of course RB isn’t meant.

I also mentioned to talk about SB in a previous post.

But then again this would be a mission design change not a gamemode change

Is basically the opposite. In large maps tanks are usually less grouped and you have more terrain for cover meanwhile in city maps all tank are gouped in a small zones. Buildings dont hide from nothing and find tanks are usually more easy. For God sake i remember see how a PE-8 destroy 12 tanks with a single attack in the new trash map of holland because all are near the mall.
City maps are just trash for tanks gameplay.

It highly depends on the map. On Red Desert, tanks are easy to see from the air due to the contrast and lack of cover. On a map like Advance to the Rhine, tanks are much harder to see because of the colour, and that buildings provide some cover. Trees and forests provide the most amount of cover.

That is one issue smaller maps have, and I think it is annoying.

I love all of these idea’s! Though what if we restricted these actions to Armored Recovery Vehicles and Combat Engineering Vehicles? Maybe make them their own type of class? I feel as though this would cause being to use these types of vehicles more. Plus I want an excuse to play as the Engineer from Team Fortress 2

Terrible idea. It’s already hard to fight against 70-spawnpoints’ spawn guards, but you also want to give them endless ammunition.

Instead of adding some teamplay. Lets bring a “new” mechanics and make Toxic 70 IQ SPAA more toxic, lets make small vehicles like Wiesel even more toxic with infinity ammo. GREAT IDEA! No

Yes, its ok. Because i can choose where i can go into CQC. At small maps i cant because of timings

Can you see through the walls?

Gaijin cant design gameplay, only grindplay

Why not add the ability to build ammunition replenishment points for common tanks?! It’s a team game. Why give extra ammunition to someone who needs it? This encourages passive play and camping, instead of team play.

I mean that’s precisely what they do here right? I do agree they should limit the terrain deformation to TDs and SPAAs though. I dont think giving ATGM carriers more options to only poke a launcher over the hill is good for gameplay and “tanks with external rocketry” shouldn’t get that either.

The ammo boxes shouldn’t be a problem to give out to those others since they’re only for yourself, not for a team effort. it’s just giving tanks that can’t contest capture points against lights/mediums/heavies a chance to grab some more ammo and gives unique tanks with “external rocketry” more chances to use their fun extra feature.

Not infinite, try reading the article again. They said you only get as much ammo in boxes as you can carry, for example the Wiesel 1A2 would have 8 missiles in the tank and can refill up to 8 more from ammo boxes per spawn. Which honestly isn’t even that much given how bad ATGMs are these days.

And what exactly makes “toxic 70 IQ SPAA more toxic” when you effectively just give them double the ammo?

wow guys every time I see a vote on war thunder to renew the game it’s literally impossible it was better when they didn’t give the choice…

What’s the point of voting if “Don’t implement this mechanic” isn’t one of the options?

Maybe because the votations Gaijind add are for stupid and completely unnecesary things. Really you want support for create trenchs when more important things like map rotation is destroyed???
Why keep losing time with things like that specially after the addition of dozers is useless ???
Gaijin should add votations for bring back the old 0.7 BR spread for example, right now most of the balance problems are due the stupid high and outdated 1.0 BR spread or why not add another votation about CAS problem??
Is simple community think they are more important things to do than add useless mechanic nobody want.

Community: Better map desing, less compression and full uptiers, better map rotation, less hackers.
Gaijin : orange artillery smoke, new decals, more top tier premius, trenchs, ammo boxes, camo nets.

Or at least have things make sense… the ammo box logic is basically: load twice as much ammo as your tank can carry, but you cant use it until you build a box, take it out of the tank and put it in the box, take it out of the box and put it back into the tank…
Something like having ammo packs at the spawn that IFVs can load and transport out to the fight for team mates (with the trade that the infantry compartment turns into a giant ammo rack), or can be towed out by tanks would be far more interesting IMO. At higher BRs you could even have air dropped packs for the utility helis to fly in, which could be a good way for the less capable helis like the hueys to get points given their limited A2G abillities.
but no… magic box to enable more camping and less team work it is.

Do you think there is a difference, 80% of the maps do not have covered locations for SPAA, and even the spawn points are not covered,
