16 ATGM is enough for a WHOLE battle. literally infinite ammo.
Gaijin will fix ATGM handling someday
As SPAA, I feel urban maps make it more difficult for me.
If you notice that tall buildings cause SPAA’s FOV to be very narrow, for CAS it doesn’t have much effect because they are in “orbit”.
And GJ’s map design is terrible, map changes are rarely mentioned in the update notes.
Looking at the “opponent”, WoT, each mound, rock, bush, each obstacle is informed in detail about their changes in the update notes.
Another fairy tale about a pilot in orbit who sees tankers, but the tanker does not see him. I remind you that only pilots have low clouds, and tankers always have clear skies.
I agree, the atgm launchers are annoying enough as they are now and have plenty of hills to hide behind. But maybe spaa don’t really need the trenches either since they kinda need to be in the open anyway right?
But ammo wise i’m just kinda afraid that it will mess up the dynamic of the game in terms of allowing players to just sit around, rearm at a spot and camp. I do get that vehicles like the callilope would benefit from this to make the giant target on their head a bit smaller and let them use their bonus weapons more, but i hope they don’t bring this mechanic to the higher br’s.
Can you imagen that japanese rocket platform to dig in on the edge of the map, camouflage itself and then start yeeting a large amount of rockets all across the map haha
I agree one hundred thousand percent that there is a need for new map design because at the moment they are below mediocrity
Regarding ammunition reloads, the correct thing would be to make some areas on the map to be able to reload, apart from that they should also review the issue of reloading ammunition at a capture point, since there are vehicles with automatic weapons that literally have shots infinite, since the capture point recharges the ribbon before you spend it.
That the tanks themselves launch boxes of ammunition seems a little absurd to me.
It’s also stupid not to have the option to say:
I want this for AB but not SB.
Good if you keep it for arcade
I can’t say I’m very enthusiastic about this idea. GRB is a decently fast pace game mode (GAB is even faster!) and these features, as complicated as they are, are better for something considerably slower. The gameplay isn’t a slow tactical advances up the map like Project Reality Squad, it’s a blitz to caps and key points on the map to get kills like Battlefield. Hell, just look at the dozer function that was added for a while by this point, most players simply just don’t bother using it even if they can use it. In addition, the idea that some tanks can just spawn objects is just asking for players to be trolled in the most infuriating way.
Overall, this is a hard pass for me.
You are right,The game is over too quickly. Why dont they use their time on fixing all that is wrong with the game such as the maps
Something like, player on plane, can take pylon for “supply capsule” (which carrying fixed quantity of “resupply points”, which can be used for replenish ammo or repair faster), and drop it to the required point (which can be marked by, idk, coloured smokes by those, why call for resupply), then taking points for “resupplying”, if frendlies use this airdrops.
(Or enemies can steal airdropped goods)
Well, this can be really interesting, but have a problem - little maps make this kind of really good mechanic useless - all will see the request markers, and it will require really teamplay-oriented players for tricks like that.
Big maps (if they ain’t been really separated by hills and stuff) will be a new cursed camper-friendly-map.
But, it will works, if we have not just PvP, which 16-player is really not enough, to fill the map, but PvPvE, like Heliborne, where AI-tanks/IFV/SPAA, will fulfill the map by activities, and make gameplay more active.
Waves/columns of bots (which more than capable to shot unaware player), spawned on main base, and reinforced on helded cappoints, will push the frontline (being cannon fodder), when supported by players, separated parts of map, will make CAS not so hard to using, and make opportunities for close-combat helos.
Bots, also can be a speedboats on maps with rivers, convoying landing crafts, which by script, will arrange landings of IFVs, creating a threat to the flank of held points if they are not intercepted.
Even infantry can be involved, as AT/AA ambushers with RPG/MANPADs, and emplacements of HMG/Recoiless rifles.
All classes will have their part to do, because that type of gameplay will simulating full-scale conflict - not just “tank clash on 1.5x1.5km”:
Ground
Tanks - breaking through defence, using preferences of thick armor, and big guns, or digging up in a defence, around hardpoint, winning time, for arriving reinforcements.
Light tanks/TD/ATGM-carriers, can flanking, or ambushing columns, using their low silhouette and powerful guns for that type of attacks.
IFVs - support tanks, against fast/agile threats, and can setting up infantry emplacements/ambushers, or replenish tank crews.
(Emplacement is sturdy, but immobile and not so sneaky, while just group of grunts with RPGs/MANPADs can be easily decimated by only MG… If been revealed/scouted before they smoked whole column.
RFVs (recon fighting vehicles) - will flank enemies, recon their positions, and be able to be a forward artillery/air controller.
SPAA - only bots, players need to cover their SPAA, or rely on air supremacy of their flyboiz.
Helos
Recon - can do same things, as RFV, takes 1/3 of bounty, for every killed foe, that be marked by them.
Heavy/Transport - except for the use of on-board weapons, can deploy infantry, for cap hardpoints, and replenish, and bring supply/repair crates, from main base.
Or even bring heavy emplacements (due to era), like AA (twin Bofors/twin C-60, or VADS/ZU-23-2), or heavy ATs (MT-12/М40, or ATGM Konkurs/TOW).
Attack helos - big guns, maybe armor, can devastate almost anything, but vulnerable for interceptors, and AA ambushes.
Planes
Interceptors/fighters - keeps sky “friendly” for their allies. Still can bring some A-G ordnance, by the cost of reduced A-A capabilities.
Bombers - making a mess on land, but kinda inaccurate (if ain’t use LGM, with marks from recons), while been pretty vulnerable to enemy fighters if ally ones ducked up. (Specification - bombs/laser-guided bombs, or small quantity of GPS/recon-guided-AGMs).
Attackers - making pretty same, that bombers, just more precisely, while having studier armor, and lesser speed.
Specification - guns, gunpods, rockets, and small amounts of laser/TV/IR-AGMs.
BTW, every main base have sturdy AT (ATGMs, and artillery salvos, on every enemy, which in “danger zone”/AA (heavy radar SAM+SPAA with missiles) emplacements, which make any spawncamp nearly impossible.
So players will better fly low (to be invisible, to that heavy SAM, or very high, to have enough time to react/missle lost most energy, and be evadable.
Well, players can really fight for the good chokepoint, built static impenetrable defences, stay in good positions, and then…
Some F-111 boyo, with 8x3000 pounders be like
Yeah, that’s the point?
As of right now, you only get 8. That is nowhere near enough to last most of a battle. MBTs can all take a save 15-23 shots depending on the tank and have the option to take even more. And an ATGM carrier has a hard time contesting caps, especially when it’s not even stabilized but everybody else is. While lights/mediums/heavies/MBTs have several times the ammo AND can contest caps easier to refill.
Are you a bot or something? HOW DO you get AMMO as a Ozelot, or Type93, or a Flarak. When All 3 points are captured by enemy and there are multiple aircraft still in the air? You cant rearm if the points where you can rearm are held by enemies!
16 critical hits and kills…it’s enough to bring a NUKE
Press J, use a spare card
what if i dont have enough score? or a backup. Your sidesteping this issue as if its the fault of the player for using up the ammo. they can easily add the Test drive Ammo resupply zone to eachspawn on all maps but they want to add this Enlisted BS to the game.
jeep with a trailer carrying ammo
You are in a situation in which it is impossible to win.
You were ABSOLUTELY useless in battle if you didn’t have 140 points after you spent ALL your ammunition.
Stop inventing fabulous situations where you would be saved by a box of ammunition. There are none, and there is no need to add ammunition boxes.
A detachable trailer with ammo would be a good addition to the game. Especially if you could share your ammobox with your team.
Because it’s a TEAMPLAY and ammo box is a toxic solo camping mechanic.
