You wouldn’t need to introduce bots en masse in your 7 playable BRs in total if the population number was even close to being decent.
I simply don’t have enough time to waste it on a mode that’s on life support from the moment of it’s inception. I also don’t like to play against AI in a PvP game.
No one’s telling you to play naval btw. It just seems uncalled for to keep making snarky comments on a thread about naval content and then tell naval players that no one cares about the content. Unless naval burnt down your house and sim battles mugged you, then I don’t see the point of going into a thread about mode that doesn’t affect you and start proclaiming how it should be removed.
If you want to suggest removing these modes, maybe start a thread of your own about it.
A lot of people would like to play naval but its awful right now, i ground out all of germany I played it a lot but im not touching it until a rework or they stop fleecing whales for coastal vessels like they do helis.
Im not saying ground is perfect but its playable at least, not going to see bot lobbies any time soon.
I was talking with big picture in mind.
A mode with like 1% of the total player base definitely implies people don’t care about it and are rather playing anything else.
I do understand your stance though, you don’t want your mode removed which is fine.
Allocating the naval balance team to air or ground doesn’t exactly seem like a good re-allocation of resources to me.I’m still livid that the Stug IV or Supermarine Spiteful is absent but I doubt adding the VTB series of boats prevented them from being added.
I’m unsure how this justifies the snarky comments though.
Again, talking about navals issues is fine, barging in with little to no gameplay experience and making snarky comments about the mode isn’t. If you want to discuss it’s issues, don’t be so dismissive and self centred.
For the record the two naval modes combined have been 1.2 to 1.4% of player sessions in 2025: link
The interesting question to be answered is how much the full-out, last-of-the-famous ships nature of this update (now including Richelieu) can change that.
Tbh, while I’m happy for a big naval update once in awhile, I’m worried that this would ended up being all show and no substance.
Sure, these “big and iconic” ships would definitely draw more people in, but if you guys haven’t rectified the flaws of the gamemode that made it as unpopular as is currently is in the grand scheme of things, I doubt these new players will stick around for long though.
What’s the point of adding shiny new toys if the playground is filled with toxic waste?
There is a catch 22 of needing the popularity to justify major fixes, but I’m hoping that with these new ships will come a minor decompression of top tier
The problem of WT is that game focused solely on GRB and ARB almost completely ignoring all other modes even popular one like AAB and GAB leaving them stagnating with relatively big online, that what hurting thunder online growth. I’m gladly welcome all Arcade modes development but there is almost none of it, heck i even prefer solely themed AB major update at least once in a year. There is no need to forcing people to move to RB you can grab donates from AB even better if you develop it well.
Well if they continue to do so, then it’s either making a profit or gajin is confident that it will be profitable in the future, hence why they continue to do so.
More likely it’s about closing out any competitor.
Naval Battles doesn’t really use any code the other modes don’t (that’s its limitation) so so long as you can serve it with the same code base, other companies trying to break in the way they did with just one mode at first face competition from the outset. They make their money in the other modes.
If the last few decades of corporate greed in the game industry can teach anything, it’s that greater profitability (to the unidentified owners of Gaijin) <> better quality game.
That said, they’ll make money on these store premiums, they always do. Lotsa whales.
