If TO ever comes to WT, it will be in spite of TO advocates’ efforts…not because of them.
It’s been nearly 10 years of asking (if we take Silkmonger as the first (he wasn’t)) but they don’t even seriously pursue or advocate for the ‘trigger queue’ idea for TO despite its merits…and then they wonder why it’s not in-game right now.
You can put forward an idea as to how they could try pitching the idea…and they say they ‘don’t wanna do all that’ work for their idea. To hear some tell it, there’s a grand conspiracy (like the Illuminati) preventing TO from happening…
I’m open to seeing TO on offer in WT and have tried to help the idea along…but with advocates like TO has, who needs opposition? SMH
People who don’t play CAS absolutely have a vote, as they have an experience getting bombed as well as no motivation to play a game mode with CAS enabled should the alternative no-CAS option exist.
Well shows how OP CAS are, saw this heavy bomber flying towards us, I hit him a few times but it wasn’t enough, ran for cover, he drops a 5 ton bomb that landed in another suburb and it still killed me.
CAS? Difficult to use? What? Especially at the non Pantsir BRs, CAS is extremely easy to use.
You got the USA where a 3.7 Hellcat can drop a 2000lb bomb with relative impunity (Deleted four 6.7 german tanks like that in one go which let us push A cap on Attica),.
You have Britain where even as far as 6.7 a Wyvern is effective with three 1000lb bombs, high top speed and 1200 rounds of 20mm ammo allowing it to also effectively kill SPAA, if you don’t have a Wyvern then do not worry, the Tech tree Mk.24 Spitfire’s got you covered as it can also effectively fight CAS jets.
Germany gets the Ju-288C or the Do-335 or the 50mm armed Me.262, the Ju-288C can drop two 2500kg bombs which means on one pass it can clear a cap and on another it can clear a flank all while going 500/600km/h, the Do-335 has good 30mil cannons for striking targets, carries a 500kg bomb and is relatively devastating.
Russia gets a nice selection from the Pe-8, to the Yak-9K and Yak-9U, and the I-186/I-225 series as well, and for CAS jets you get the IL-28 and also the Su-11.
And those are just the four big tech trees. I didn’t even touch upon much for 8.0 and above. Its funny how people in the British tree don’t seem to use the Canberra’s much. They’re fast and carry a good bomb load, and you get two. The standard one with no guns but can delete teams by carrying two 4000lb bombs and is faster than most planes that can catch it, and the B Mk.6 with a 20mm gunpod, its now limited to 5x1000lb bombs but can now strafe low armoured targets with 2000rds of 20mm ammo. (My favourite CAS plane to use because it can also fight off other planes.)
As someone that flies both CAS and CAP, I call big piles of horse dung on the statement that CAS is hard to play, the only thing that’s hard to do is accurately drop a bomb but even that becomes second nature when you learn the timings.
I think you need to re-read, very slowly, and very carefully what I said lmao
I ain’t crying, you said CAS involved some form of skill/difficulty, I replied with my experience having used CAS planes in 5 nations. I don’t use top tier British CAS because Britain doesn’t have top tier CAS, its so bad it might as well not even exist in the tech tree, I use top tier fighters to hunt CAS down instead. Russia has the easiest top tier CAS in the game thanks to their fantasy Kh38MTs. So as someone who has experience with CAS, I commented.
You are absolutely right. My point is that if Gaijin ever considering adding a new RB « tank only » mode, it may (should) also consider allowing planes limited to full realistic control (no instructor) and cockpit view.
i.
Just for fun, grab a joystick (or mouse joy) and try to strafe trucks on test drive. You will quickly realize controlling yourself your plane is way more difficult, less laser accurate/stable than with the instructor’s help.
Having player controlled planes in « tank only » mode would not introduce any CAS imbalance like in RGB, would probably motivate some players to learn flying and would keep purpose of AAA vehicles in players lineup.
