Revert turret baskets

Turret baskets that have 0 effect on turret rotation are being added to vehicles, and these should be fixed properly on other vehicles. More turret baskets aren’t what we need, this is just a continuation of a rabbit hole that should have been left behind months ago.

Realistic interior damage and armor should be of top priority, not nuking vehicles and making them unusable while constantly buffing Russian tanks.

agree, one of the worst additions to top tier for NATO

They’ve added all the othe modules so it isnt like a badly aimed shot wont do some sort of damage…

At least we dodge the stun mechanic bullet for the time being.

Doesn’t matter in them, they say “only hitting the systems in the basket does damage and stops rotation”

Something I believed up until now, now I see the truth that a single strip of metal or panel causes my turret drives to be completely shafted.

The point isn’t that ‘a shot won’t do damage’ it’s that they are constantly buffing shitty little rat tanks (BMPT, Autocannon tanks, CAS even) and only amplifying camping as the strategy.

Instead of making ‘shots do damage’ they should focus on fixing server desync, the number 1 cause of ghost shells, non-pens, and lack of damage in the first place instead of overcomplicating shit for no reason.

I shot a lower front plate on multiple T-72B3’s the other day in my Type 90 and it penned, took out their Autoloader, but didn’t cause an ammo detonation.

the autoloader of doom and despair when you clearly pen the tank but just yellow the autoloader

u realise every tank has turret baskets right? its what u know, the turret crew stand and sit on. so removing it will make it even more annoying…

if they dont remove them from all tanks i want the T80s autoloaders to catch fire when hit due to flammable hydraulic fluid so even if you dont hit a round with spall it cooks off

After you’re already dead…

You seem to not understand. The metal does absolutely nothing, having a piece of spall hit a strip of 2-5 mm of aluminum or steel is not going to stop turret rotation like they have modeled in game.

hate to be the barer of bad news but thats what turret baskets basically are… your lucky to not die in one shot when you actually get hit, hell they still havent even fixed the double spall turret baskets produce when you hit the giant hydraulic pump mechanism thats attached to the turret basket.

For anyone unaware this is the double spall im on about, there is a giant pump mechanism that seems to produce another amount of spall when hit but nothing else on the turret baskets seems to do this, even Russian ones do the same thing

if you couldnt tell I was be sarcastic then i dont know what to say… i know what turret baskets do IRL and dont like there implementation, just pointing out the previous trial of stun mechanic while gone, turret baskets in there current form are basically that, cheap hits to disable a tank from firing back or insta killing you

They where going for BOTH

i know they were going for both… im being sarcastic… what we have with turret baskets is basically already a stun mechanic just worse in every way

Fair enough, it’s hard to pick up in text sometimes. But yeah, it’s basically the same result, but imagine what a nightmare it would be getting auto cannoned with stun and the modules… might as well just ALT-F4 the game at that point.

oh yeah the double approach would be pure chaos, i dont mind turret baskets if they actually stopped them from producing extra spall on hits, cannot count how many times my entire turret compartment has been filled with spall because of the main shell spall + the turret basket spall (which seems bigger than the main shell spall at times) just nuking my crew but hey BMPT doesnt get its turret basket when its literally modelled in the brochures :D

It defiantly should be better implemented, completely disabling the turret drive is ridiculous, if their are components on the basket that will affect the traverse they should be modeled and have to actually be hit to jam it and sheet metal is not going to be producing spall (probably not stopping any large chunks either though).
