I want to see air RB EC. On top of that EC needs to be fleshed out. The sim community has voiced concerns about EC’s warts. It’s just that even with the warts EC is better than shoving 32 players into a phonebooth to fight to the death.

exactly this! and catch is - no matter how much they will tune this phonebooth, it will still be the same in its core, just masked

No thanks, Air RB is one of my favourite modes and basically fine as-is.
RBEC is kinda meh.
how much time did you spend there yet?
It’s been my main mode (more recently tied for main mode with Naval RB) for six years now. The only meaningful change I’d like to see is maps with more varied and interesting terrain, like AB’s maps (but RB sized).
really? you are okay with certain aircraft having practically no role in game? objectives being pointelss?

Fourth option.
Leave ARB as it is (but perhaps with reduced team sizes) as the melee gamemode. Then add RB EC gamemode for those wanting longer, more dynamic matches with PvPvE gameplay.
I think there is nothing inherrently wrong with ARB and there is certainly a place for it. It just shouldnt be the only option for RB players
