the F-4E is an alright aircraft against the MiG-23, it can hold its own, although it can dogfight outside of specific moments would not recommend due to the overwhelming amount of SAMs, i’ve lost quite a few just because of a surprise SAM going up my engine, or a R-23 coming from behind right before i can gun my target

Honestly, they’re kinda evenly matched.
The F-4E has a practically useless RADAR, and mediocre RADAR missiles when it does work. But in exchange it gets more of them, better IR missiles, and better flight performance. You will easily beat most MLDs in a straight dogfight.
Only problem is that the gamemode isn’t set up in a way where those advantages come into play. No-one really dogfights, since doing so in a furball will end up with you being third partied. All that really matters is head on performance and top speed when trying to deliver a nuke. And that’s where the MLD has advantages, with it’s (admittedly wonky) MTI mode and superior RADAR missiles.
The real discrepancy is in the CAS options. The Soviet lineup is just better across the board. Especially when it comes to the medium nuke carrier. The Su-24 is far surperior to either the F-4E and especially the A-7.
This is the problem with assymetrical balancing.

not to mention the MiG-23 and SU-24 may have a lower top speed than the F-4E on the deck (ive reached mach 1.16 before getting the slow down warning) they accelerate a lot faster than the F-4E and in most times leave it in the dust when in a straight line flight
similarly applies to the A-10 and A-7 vs SU-25
If anything the US needs one of the two F-111s since the US only has one supersonic nuke aircraft so everyone is only using the F-4E right now.

This is probably my own bias due to flying the f4e a lot more but i find the f4e to be a lot better due to it being easier to handle. You have to cruise at tree top level dodging spaa and i can do that much better in the f4e.
if they wanted to be funny they could give the US a F-16C but restrict it to AIM-7s and AIM-9Ls and give it the 4xAGM-88 Harms and 2x AIM-9Ls or 2xHarms 2x AIM-7s and 4x AIM-9Ls, but then they’d have to model a entirely new pod and shit for it so i doubt it will come yet at least for the event

something ive noticed a lot (mainly after getting shot down and shown the hostile aircraft) the US aircraft have a lot better/stable rolls ie they don’t rock all over the place when doing a roll which helps at low alt
this would be elite but unfortunately it would mess up the high/low br stuff if it were in the default loadout. maybe they could make a high br free loadout and low br free loadout.
yeah, have the 11.7-13.0 bracked have the viper and hornet with the HARMs, and give russia their MiG-29s and (maybe) an early SU-27 (with the same limitations of non IRCCM fox 2s and fox 1s only)
honestly sparrow slinging is and always been more fun then amraam slinging, the only real annoying part was the fact you still had to research the AIM-7s on the near modern jets

I personally agree the with the current 10.3-12.0 12.3-13.0 br bracket. playing an 11.7s in the higher bracket would be pain.
also something to add here is that I have yet to see an A-6 with a nuke so adding the F-111s with the B61 just makes even more sense.
just looking at the wiki and the only 2 11.7s i see are the F-111F and the A-10C, of which the A-10C does get 4xAIM-9Ms
not to mention the F-16A block 10 literally has a section of console next to the right knee for nucellar ordnance
edit i think its the right knee, but i know its somewhere on the right side of the cockpit

you forgot the F-4S and F4J at 12.0
i was mainly just mentioning the 11.7s but the F-4S and F-4J arnt gonna have as bad of a time due to having SRH PDV/SRH PDV HD radars capability as well as HMS
I 100% agree the F-16 with a nuke would be nice to have. although me personally id be more hyped to run a F-16 with 4 harms which now that I think about it why does the F-4E not have AGM-88s?
they don’t have 9Ls which is gonna hurt with everyone going low to the ground especially in the higher br where its all aspect IRCCM missiles
because it was the F-4G that had the Harms, while the lesser phantoms/F-105s had the shrikes and AGM-78s
