Repair Icon in Tank Assault Arcade

Recently noticed that upon collecting the repair/rearm icon in Tank Assault mode that ammunition and a crew replenishment charge were being given but no full repairs/crew as it was previously… thought it was a glitch so on myltiple maps and various points it seems to be consistent.

I dont recall reading anywhere that this was changed, but maybe I missed it.

Curious if anyone else experiencing this or can shed light as I tried to search forum but didnt see any recent posts regarding this. I didnt see a bug report but wanted to see if this is also affecting others so that we can put one together.

If this was intentional, why keep the icon representing a repair when it isnt.

I only played one game on the ground so far and had the same issue; but I never even got a bonus FPE or Crew Replenishment charge, just an ammo reload.

I’m hoping it’s a bug because it fully repairs helicopters still.

Not being big on optimism, I think we might have to live with that in Ground Assault until the next major patch, just like the stacked spawns two or three patches back. That was never fixed before the next patch.

Not a glitch, nothing in the patch notes, but functionality has been cut by two thirds. What the equipment pickups do reliably is restocking ammo, they do not heal or replace crew members, nor do they do even the slightest repair to the tank. I do get extra healing charges, though not all the time. Sometimes it seems to help to use the initial one before rolling over the icon, but I didn’t pay enough attention to collect sufficient, hm, evidence.

I tried different vehicles over several maps to cofirm and it definitely has not repaired the vehicle/crew, only the ammo/charges for fpe and crew replacement.

I tried various vehicles, different maps, tried different points of the icons but still same results.

Considering how they tackled Sinai from update with the crazy new rock formations that had ai pathing right through it, id loke to hope that this would be alleviated in a timely manner.

But… as mentioned, look how long it took to fix the ai spawn issue (oh man those were good times for HE vehicles lol)… or further back with the ai auto-fixing after you damaged them, etc.

I will admit i havent had a chance to test using a heli but i imagine from the other results it will be similar.

I can say for certain that it’s on Kursk, Mozdok, Japan, Ardennes, and Maginot. Can’t say anything about Sinai (absolutely refuse to play that since the rework) and Fulda (haven’t played any 8.3+ in months, the heli pilots put me off that), but I’d be surprised if it doesn’t happen there just the same.

Still no new updates nor response to this it seems yet, even after a few recent patches… I am guessing this is just the new function we have to live with?..

Also it seems like you don’t get the bonus crew replenishment if you have a crew member knocked out, and I’m pretty sure I got a bonus crew rep in the QN506 after picking one up, despite not having it unlocked as a mod.

That appears to vary from map to map. On some you can pick up extra crew charges even without damage, on others you have to use the first, then pick up a new one to use it, then another. Not sure, but I think Mozdok is where the charges won’t stack.

The “double waves” also have a tendency of screwing up Assault matches. Groups need to be good to get through 80-ish tanks, and the risk of being overrun is huge. Another problem with this, although minor, is that it disrupts the wave sequence. Had IS-1s in the final Kursk wave today instead of IS-2s.

I’ve just had a game on fulda where I started in the Type 74F, got hit and picked up a kit for the crew replenishment

later respawned in the Type 16P where the same thing happened, so I picked up a kit and instead it fully restored my vehicle like it used to

okay, I have a working theory: picking up a repair kit with repairable damage seems to fix your tank completely. Just crew members missing or yellow/repaired components won’t restore your vehicle but you will still get ammo/bonus FPE/Crew Replenishment

Negative. No matter where I’m driving over equipment pickups, as of yesterday evening I don’t get any repairs, no fixing of “cosmetic” damage (skirts blown off, extra holes in the turret or mantlet), no healing, no replacing crew members. (13/10/25, 4:15 CEST)

Ammo and a replenishment charge, that’s it. Can’t speak for Sinai, Fulda, or anything above BR 6.3 because it’s been a long time since I played any of that.

Also, my game client is at 2.49.0.59,. the change log stops at .54

Yea I havent had any repairs even to yellow portions of vehicles like it did in the past, simply just gives me ammo/charges and on my way. I mostly have been doing 8.3+ and have had this same thing across all the maps. Have tried multiple vehicles, but always the same repair issues, I will have to test other nations as I have only tested via Italy, France and Japan… but seems to be same issues still.

  • Bradley clip: damaged but repaired manually with lost crew = just an ammo refill + FPE
  • Type 74 #1: two lost crew no damage = same again
  • Type 16P (same game): Lost crew with a damaged gun breech = vehicle restored

tested it more in another game with the 74 and it repaired consistently if I had knocked out components

I play Assault every day and this bug keeps happening to me.
Very inconvenient as I sometimes play tanks that don’t yet have the Parts modification.

Playing around some more:

  • VT4A1 was the same as before, repairable damage = full restore
  • Completely stock M47 (no parts); it didn’t work, even with the .50 on the roof destroyed

This is making me wonder. What sort of mistake was made to NOT have the error in some BR brackets, and then not on every vehicle?

Had an interesting situation last night, using kf41, damage to both sides of vehicle, hit the repair/rearm icon, it repaired left side but not right, as well as did not restore aps charges as it nornally should.

So im not sure what algorithm may be causing issues as even the same vehicle it seems to be inconsistent, albeit at least with kf41 i have not had a full reset as it normally should…

These discrepancies lead me to believe it was not intended to be working how it currently is… but again we may not see a fix for a while due to lack of others adding to report… and due to it negatively affecting players, whereas anything positive would have been fixed asap lol…usually the case anyways. (wagers in heli pve come to mind, haha)

So far from what I have seen, doesn’t look like anything related to upcoming update will address any issues either with this…

Once thing I have noticed is that if I do sustain damage that requires repair… but haven’t initiated repair, and can still move, I can sometimes get the damaged parts to repair to 100% when I grab the icon…

however, if I repair first, then move to the icon, it remains at the repaired state and does not repair to 100%, not withstanding already the issues of crew replenishment, etc.

As of now, I do not think they are eager to fix this issue, ticket still open with no updates.

I may have mentioned this before, since my ticket has been open now for over a month I’m expecting this to get the same treatment as the stacked spawns from the beginning of this year: no mention is ever made in any change log, fixed in the next major patch.

Very true, I dont really expect any info either, other than us just noticing it, as we have in the past with other issues in the mode… and informing each other.
