REO M35 (M55) - The Mobile Triple Zastava
Hi and welcome to my 68th suggestion, which is about the Indonesian M35 truck with M55 triple gun mounted, hope you like it.

Basic Background
Development of the M35 truck took place in 1949 and was the result of a design by the REO (Ransom Eli Olds) Motor Company. The goal was to create a replacement for the 2.5-ton, three-axle, four-wheel drive truck known by the nickname “Deuce”. The first production vehicle of this new range was the M34, but it was soon replaced by the M3, with the main difference being a ten-tire configuration on the new model.
In the United States, the M35 gained particular importance as it was used by the armed forces for many decades, thus becoming one of the country’s longest-used military vehicles. In the 1970s, Indonesia began importing the first generation of these REO trucks, which had previously been used by the US military in the Vietnam War. Since the trucks were originally produced in the USA, they are equipped with a left-hand steering wheel, which distinguishes them from the REO trucks that were later produced under license in South Korea and received a right-hand steering wheel there.
The M-55 Triple Gun used by the Indonesian special forces unit Kopasgat was manufactured in Yugoslavia/Serbia and imported in the 1960s. This weapon is based on the HS-804 type, which was originally developed by Hispano-Suiza in Switzerland.
The REO M35 (M55) Overall
The REO M35 is a 6×6 truck with an empty weight of 5,900 kg. With a length of 7 meters, a width of 2.36 meters, a height of 2.82 meters and ten wheels, the M35 is robust and designed for difficult terrain conditions. The M35 is powered by a REO OA-331 engine with 127 hp (95 kW). The transmission has 5 gears, which are complemented by a two-range transfer case. On the road, the M35 reaches a top speed of 93 km/h.
The Zastava M55, first produced in 1955, is a triple anti-aircraft gun with a caliber of 20x110mm. The weapon itself weighs 970 kg, while its combat weight is 1,070 kg. The M55 achieves an impressive projectile velocity of 835 to 850 meters per second. Its target range is between 1,000 and 1,500 meters vertically and up to 5,500 meters horizontally. The gun is capable of firing 1,200 rounds from three drums in combat, making it an effective weapon against aerial targets.
