Removed/hidden vehicles

generally its for balance.

But if it can buff a Russian unfairly or screw over a minor nation it can happen too

Disregard the Bernau in this, Volksmarine Project 89.2 minesweeper.

That’s the tricky part with just saying Project as that’s also the yard numbering system for eastern bloc ship designs, but for never finished vessels it’ll be project after the vessels name.

Hmm surprised VS-10 doesn’t appear on the list but it doesn’t have project after it, it was bombed before it was fully operational.

I’m talking about removing fictional things, not about balance decisions.
For example, 2A4 doesn’t get DM33 for balance reasons but it still could and did fire DM23 just fine, so that’s a completely different story from VEAK 40.

If DM23 was somehow incompatible with 2A4 it’d get hard removed due to reasons regarding fiction and not just hidden from research like fictional vehicles did.

Ohh ffs not this again, listen here & listen well the first never finished warship was the VS-10 in the German tree (technically as I’ve only come to this knowledge recently) but after that (or before I read up on VS-10) the Italian destroyer Commandante Margottini was added after that the Italian cruiser Etna, then an only then did the soviets later get the Project 69 Heavy Cruiser (Battlecruiser in game) Kronshtadt added.

The soviets weren’t the first & inadvertently weren’t the last ( Imperial Japanese Navy Battleship Tosa).

They’re all still more real than the Imperial Japanese Army Type 5 Escort Boat which is completely fictional an should follow in being removed from the game, or be remodelled to the as completed wooden design.

Well, I can’t say I understand much of the reasoning from Gaijin or everyone’s theories. Oh, we do it historically, oh we do it for balance. It’s real, fake, It’s paper, pencil. It wouldn’t be fair to those who have it. Like what they’ll still have it? I don’t really care I’ve stated its a game. We can all do some googling and see War Thunder has plenty of fictional, proposed, planned, mockups, unfinished vehicles, etc. Vehicle in the game some you can even still get within the TTs. And we all know are own little certain niche things to our individual gameplay that aren’t modeled perfect. But it’s a game we love the idea of, so we give our time.

My whole point has been there are vehicles that offer playable content, that still receive love be it buff, or whatever. It’s not dead useless content. We all love the ideas of protypes, and what ifs. I offered suggestions on how they could be slid back in the game, not just hey I should get it because I asked. I said for the players who missed it and new, and the new in the future. Man, it even looks like Germany could use some help on those win rates but all well.

I logged in earlier it was day 780. And you know I think I’m going to leave it there. I would love to give out my 14 coupons to people who would love that certain vehicle to their favorite parts of the game. But sorry doesn’t seem like that would be fair to someone. @Gaijin if you ever have a change of heart, I’ll be the first one back. Till then just the game seems to be bias and unfair to everyone. We have all kept this game moving forward, not just the original crew. </3

Well they make money from these vehicles so they will never do this, but event vehicles should be treated like squadron vehicles after the event complete. That meaning like with the squadron vehicles you would be able to choose once to research along side of your normal grind. they could even keep the market but just make it solely for skins and decorations. but again this does not make money

What would even be the point of doing an event then? If I could just research it later? There isn’t any. If Gaijin were to introduce something like this, there wouldn’t be a point in having events at all. It would be, in all honesty, completely pointless.

Right, one thing is adding a paper/blueprint ship that’s still fully capable of taking meaningful damage like the others. Another completely different thing is using a totally different logic and set of assumptions just because the ship is Russian.

The Sovetsky Soyuz is basically unstoppable at ranges of 10–13 km, far exceeding what its armor was ever designed to withstand.

During real testing, its armor was meant to withstand at most 406 mm shells from Japanese guns. Yet in-game, it faces 460 mm cannons that should punch through and reach pretty much any part of the Sovetsky Soyuz at those distances.

So yes, Russia benefits far more than other nations when it comes to vehicles and aircraft that never left the drawing board or were never finished during the war period.

No matter the situation or the explanation, Russia is the nation that benefits the most from Gaijin’s mistakes whenever an update or a new vehicle project is released. There’s no way to disagree with this fact unless you want to argue against the Russian naval engineers themselves, who designed the ship to resist a maximum of 406 mm, while in your view and in in-game reality the armor somehow withstands 460 mm guns with over 860 mm of penetration.

They would definitely need some sort of shift, but you could do something similar to helldivers where they still have “seasons” but if you miss one you can go back and work on grinding that out. you could still have the event, but nuke the requirements to say 20k score every two days, and have it be for skins and profile pictures. Iv just never been a fan of unobtainable vehicles

Sorry guys, I won’t be talking about ships for now. Let’s get back to the main topic and leave ships for a dedicated naval thread.
