REMOVE UPTIERING AND AND DOWNTIERING also add historically matchmaking back

No problem, sadly i don’t agree with your point to begin with, the BR system is a great system to have, it creates variety and a broader more diverse match.
The problem to begin with is often vehicles being in the wrong BR.

I don’t have a problem with the BR system. I have a problem with the app, tearing down tearing system and countries being put against them selves in airRB

Uptiering* downtiering

the uptier/downtier IS the BR system.
there aren’t enough tanks in only one BR to populate the matches without it being becoming 10 of the same American tank vs 10 of the same Soviet tank 90% (number out of thin air) of the time. this would be way less fun than what we have now.
more fair? maybe, but not certainly. what if one Soviet tank is in the wrong BR making it way stronger than others in the same. this would mean that the other countries would loose a big majority of their matches for a long while before they fix that. instead with the system as it is now there is more variety and fewer of that specific overpowered tank in the same match on average.

Then they need to make it where it’s within that BR number so if I choose 57 it should be between 50 and 57 tanks that I’m fighting Nye up to 670 if I’m playing 6.7 I don’t wanna be fighting Cold War era tanks, 77 or above.

That does not make sense. because if you can only fight 5.0 and 5.7 if you pick 5.7 then the 5.0 guys are going to have to fight tanks above their BR right?
so it has to be a range in both directions right?

they have already implemented some hard cutoffs in BR range so that tanks with thermals and APFSDS don’t fight older tanks. (Planned Battle Rating changes (table updated 04.08.2023))
at lower BR’s this hasn’t really been a problem (unsure here but i see very little talk of it).

All I hear is THEY NEED! What about you? Adapt or quit!

well where do you split cold war exactly? because ww2 tanks kept fighting long into the cold war, shermans and t34 were still used in korea, not to mention that they are still being used after the cold war ended, there has been videos of ww2 tanks being used in yemen and syria in the 2010s, even pz4 as been seen recently, so now do you want an t90 vs pz4… this is the true historical matchmaking

And then you kill every X.0 tank because it will be 100% chance of uptier. Everyone will play X.7 because you get 100% chance of downtier.

Ok, first of all, there is no uptiering/downtiering “system”. These are made up words that players started using for excuses for poor performance 3 years ago or so. Before that, no one used these terms and it was not an issue. Granted there were less vehicles and particularly those of higher BRs. The Devs have swamped the game with more modern/high tier vehicles during that time, while continuing to use the same +/- BR range for matchmaking. So, yeah . . you get some “growing pains”. Another thing to consider is what is a “Battle Rating” anyway? These numbers are not specifically tied to each vehicle’s “performance” near as much as they are made up numbers for the matchmaker to use to set up games. A vehicle’s BR is more about what other vehicles it can face in battle more than anything. Say you have a line up with the highest BR is a 6.3, this means you may see vehicles anywhere from 5.3 - 7.3, yeah?? But you will not see that in a single game because of the +/- 1.0 rule. So say you get in a game that is 5.7 - 7.7, you are in the middle, neither up or down technically. Neither is anyone with a 6.0, follow? Any 5.7’s or 7.7’s might be considered up or down, but the amount of any of those is not “regulated” specifically. It’s a mixed bag and you do the best you can . . fairly simple.
Now as for “historical match ups”, we just kinda lost those due to so many new vehicles, nations and for the sake of getting games going in a decent time frame. And yes, as mentioned, every time there is an Update, most players wanna get in the new, shiny stuff . . . just the way it is. It’s a video game, play to have fun . . and yes, you can still do that even though you do not have an “advantage” every game. No one wins every game or finishes on top of the leaderboard all the time . . just not how it works.
Do the best you can, be humble in victory & gracious in defeat. But most of all, try not to add pressure to yourself to “grind” all the time or rush to high tier just to have the bigger, faster, mo’ better next new thing. Because even when you get there, you have the same matchmaker working the same system and the only thing that really changes are the vehicles . . . . it’s the journey, not the destination . . . enjoy the ride.

At the moment I am against tightening the BR spread because my experience with lack of vehicle variation in battles.

Recently I was using 5.3 US lineup a lot in RB and more often than I would like I was just getting Germany against me, so it was all just about 5 same vehicles against me over and over again and tigher BR spread would make it even worse.

Sure it is caused by Nation grouping and lower amount of player playing minor nations aswell, but at the moment this would make it even worse.

Another potential issue is specific matchups, where one vehicle is at significant disadvantage against other specific vehicles at the exact same BR and with lower BR spread this matchup would occur even more frequently, effectively denying to compensate by fighting against different vehicles.

70000 devided by air, tanks, bluewater, coastal, helicopters, multiple other game modes, custom battles and AFK. Then there is arcade, realistic and simulator. Then you have almost 40 battle ratings as well as 4 servers, banned maps and multiple nations… so yes 70000 can get some longer waiting times and uses +/- 1.0 br.

I very much do long for and wish for the old matchmaker that did “themed” games with Allies v axis, nato v warsaw, or even other things like us vs uk on hokkaido…

That’s not why it happens, and you being ok with it doesn’t mean others will be.

Outside of tech trees having similar vehicles, that is exactly why that happens.

Nope. Zero documented reason to believe that. The explicit reason gaijin doesn’t use fixed teams anymore is quote “balance” (internally sobbing)

I never commented on why they implemented any changes in the past.

So idk why you are talking about that. I outlined why the type of battles described occur.

You mean from times when there was 4 tank nations with 20 tanks each?

Do you think we had 4 nations with 20 tanks each in 2019?

Not sure from where you pull that 2019 but put it back
