Genuinely Stupid. I have no other words for how dumb it is. What even is the point of “Simulator Battles” anymore when you fight Gen 3 Thermals in a Sherman or Prop aircraft?
Turns out, for some ungodly reason. 5.0 Sim can be stretched to 8.3 Sim. This is stupid.
All cold war era vehicles need removing from WW2 tiers.
I’m referring specifically to SIM. Simulator should not have a vehicle from 1979 with Gen 3 Thermals and a 20mm gun capable of killing every tank and aircraft reliably at that tier fighting M4 Sherman Tanks. That’s rediculous.
I can tolerate it in Realistic since it isn’t a problem there, but Simulator is literally SIMULATOR.
Pretty sure they’re Gen 2 thermals.

Gaijin doesn’t care about simulator, they would have removed the mode by now if it wouldn’t cause a backlash.

It’s Simulator. Barely anyone plays it.
I’m fine with waiting, but I’m not fine with 5.0-6.7 Simulator seeing 7.3 and 8.3 tanks for no damn reason.
It’s a Rh202… Around 66mm of pen with the DM63, what’s the problem? In War Thunder’s scenario, there’s no problem, but if the Simulator Battles was really a simulator instead of Realistic Battles with additional restrictions, the Wiesel 1A4 facing most WW2 and post-war vehicles would be a problem.
Gen 3 Thermals with Scouting, Laser Rangefinder, enough penetration to kill anything that isn’t a heavy tank on the side, and a literal laser beam against Simulator Aircraft. It’s stupid.
There’s no scouting in Sim mind you.
Thin armor, very light vehicle, and loud. You can’t surpass objects with ease and the vehicle controls is terrible.
If you’re complaining about the Wiesel 1A4, why you didn’t said nothing about the SUB-I-II with more survivability and the same cannon with the same ammo in lower Battle Rating?
Just because it has thermal imagers of “third” generation? Having TVD isn’t a big of a deal.
Try a 2000s vehicle with an 155mm
-Can’t scout in Sim
-66mm of pen will be unable to kill many medium tanks it sees from the side
-carries just 400rds of 20mm
-can be killed by .50s from any angle

you just need a squadmate next to you, and you become a great team, worth probably more than 2 normal tanks.
Having someone next to you for spotting and rangefinding is awesome.
Time frames should be respected in sim. That is the point of the gamemode, to be the most realistic war thunder can be.
