Remove the R-27ER from the early Mig-29 variants

it does not

what would be the difference between 4x r-73 + 2x 27T vs 6x r-73

at that point you might as well just limit it to not being able to carry weapons on the inner pylons

I mean if we want realism we shouldn’t do that. Also R-73 is not really that great of a weapon.

r27ts are MUCH worse than the 73 in terms of flare rejection unless you’re shooting at like an f-15e or something, that thing has like double the gatewidth but slightly better range band values

so you trade off range for better IRCM?

without going into too much detail:

High speed acceleration is too high, low speed acceleration is too low (due to a mix of too much drag and too little thrust)

r27ts barely have any more range than r73, they’re super useless. They got way more drag, anyone would take the 27r or another 73 over a 27t

give this man a true

the huge missile has more drag what a suprise

for the same reason why are ppl taking the r-27ET over the ER because it has its usecases

From my point of view there are 3 outcomes possible;

  1. The Mig-29 9.12 (germany and hungary) see their ERs removed in order to have only the 27R and get moved down to 12.3, while the 29 9.13 remains at 12.7 with it’s current loadout.

  2. both 9.12 and 9.13 get 6 R73s and move up to 13.0

  3. both 9.12 and 9.13 get only 4 R73s and 2 R27Rs in exchange of 27ER and stay at 12.7

et is vastly superior to the t, you cant compare them really imo. er/et is a much better trade off compared to r/t

iam comparing the ET to the ER and not the T

even then, r/er are much closer in terms of use case compared to et/t

I 100% WANT THIS.

Gaijin, we NEVER asked for the r27ER to be added for the MiG 29’s. You slid that in there because of “balance” when all you had to do was implement the AiM-9 L/I. This is a valid solution.

WHAT??? 27Ts slap……

in my experience, using them on the yak 141 outer pylons, I find the r27r much more viable and usable than the t, i usually bring 3 er/r and 1 t, the t just for people who are delusional and don’t know how to press the flare key. if r27t had its irl lock ranges then i would see a use case for them, in practice theyre pretty mid

R-73 with MiG’s turn time…💀💀💀

I don’t think the R-73 by itself is a reason to raise the BR. From my experience, it’s actually worse than the AIM-9M, since its motor smokes a lot and it’s easily decoyed by flares.

+1, the MiG-29s are completely ahistorical as they stand and aren’t representative at all of the real plane.

yeah R-73s pure dogfighting missile outside of that its average compared to other IR missiles

Well… they outclass anything without IRCCM and are still the best IR missile in HOBS/dogfight situation.

Take the R-27ER and give it access to R-73 it automatically sits on the 13.0 zone which sadly is extremelly compressed as of right now. Let it keep the 27ER… Still 13.0… And would still be overshadowed by the flanker which has a much better loadout and better FM, so whats the point?

If the belgian F-16A sits there without any radar missiles, why would the mig29 with R-73 and R-27R which are still fantastic semi-active radar missiles, be 12.7? Not to mention that it is faster, has tws, has HMD, has IRST. The only disadvantages are worse dogfight performance and RWR.

It would absolutely club 11.7-12.7

The 12.7 mig29 is a good 12.7 jet. The mig29G at 13.0 is pointless if you have a flanker. There’s no way your would get a 12.7 mig29 with R-73
