A dive bombing assault starts from 1.5-2 kilometres, occasionally 1 kilometer if visibility is bad and occurs within…
Time 00:00 Begin roll-over to inverted
Time 00:02 Be flying at 60 degree angle
Time 00:05 Release payload
Time 00:08 Target destroyed due to bomb delay being set too high
Time 00:10 You’re some 2 kilometers away from the drop zone flying with 478 km/h at 100 meters
(from my own sim event CAS clip)
When in this 7 second timespan do you intend to dodge?
I have low graphics settings limiting my ability to spot tanks.
I don’t have a rudder pedal and use relative axis buttons to control my rudder which is bad for very precise adjustments needed, hence why I released it so low as I couldn’t steady myself.
We’re playing on a giant map that encompasses 2 GRB maps and more.
I’ve only really trained myself to do dive-bombing in Corsairs/Hellcats (for sim boat events), Yaks (Il2:GB) and Fw190/Bf109 (Il2:GB). Aircraft groupings represent gunsights.
I havn’t flown the Mustang in forever and I can barely keep her steady
There’s no markers or third person view so I dropped it using the tracers as my targetting guide
I was flying low because of aforementioned lack of third person or hit/scout markers.
Add ±1-2 seconds for when I initiate the attack or release the bomb.
Yeah, AF AA is overpowered at lower BRs, and basically useless at higher BRs and top tier. Needs adjustments across the board to be effective but not overpowered or useless, and the same goes for the AI AA across the map. Some of many things Gaijin drags their heels on.
As for the forum-goers - Depends on the time of day and what part of the forum you’re going through. Not everybody posts everywhere, after all.
Yeah, the worst weather I think i’ve ever seen was a light drizzle.
So much variation could be added if they just used the time of day and weather settings already in game. Let alone add some new ones
Like imagine playing in this weather:
Let alone if they started modeling some of the affects that the weather has (imagine if every map had directional wind, that would speed you up/slow you down depending on direction of travel)
Oh I agree. They also need to get rid of thunderstorms in Sinai. Like yeah, the desert that gets news just for having a singular cloud in the sky gets thunderstorms. It’s so ridiculous.
I would love blizzards though, I already enjoy the aesthetics of it snowing in winter maps, blizzards would make it more fun.
That’s the weird part too. Like Viet Nam is well known for monsoons and rain, yet it’s always clear and sunny when I fly there (I am well aware Viet Nam is not always rainy, I am saying it is more known for it), meanwhile I get thunderstorms in Aral Sea (very well known for rain, totally not like it’s dried up), Sinai (not like it isn’t dry or anything), Tunisia (theoretically you could say it gets storms from the Mediterranean Sea, but no), and even Red Desert (aesthetically looks beautiful, realistically it’s not viable).
The most complained about maps are the small ones, especially the city ones. And people hated the changes to the larger, slower maps like Sinai
Im actually fairly certain a “Ground EC” gamemode would actually be very popular. Personally I hate GRB because the maps are way too small and devolves into which team can spawn camp first 99% of the time. Which can occur within minutes.
GRB EC would solve a lot of issues ngl. It would make ai units more impactful, make infantry easier to add, and expanding the map size would lower the chancing of dying to CAS. Only issue is it would take effort on Gajin’s end to add.
