SOME maps have caps large enough. With open topped vehicles the lethality range on arty is huge due to overpressure. ‘plenty of times’ doesn’t mean every time and the random death to a guy clicking on the map is what makes it a bad mechanic.
Even small cap zones - still survived - in an m18. And of course I’m not forced to stay there. My choice to take a risk.
On the other side of the coin just finished a battle playing Israel. Just after spawning, my Rochev (the m109 copy) was spawn-killed by CAS as I tried to leave the spawn-zone. Absolutely nothing I could do to avoid that death. Artillery can’t spawn-kill but CAS can. Should we remove CAS?
Congrats, you rolled the dice and won. However, that doesn’t change the fact that its random.
You aren’t forced to stay there. Except its the game objective. And almost every player has arty. You can deny a cap for 30s+ easily if your team just keeps throwing arty. Or the light can risk just dying to someone clicking on teh map.
If t was up to me, yes. Removing CAS would improve gameplay. As it is, i would still remove the ability to spawn in planes until you make a meaningful impact on the game (1-2 kills, cap+kill, 3+ assists) rather than the current system of one cap and fly.
If you’re getting spawncamped then the problem isn’t CAS. you’ve simply lost the match.
then don’t shoot at targets a mile out and reveal your position. you’re acting like you’ve only played SPAA once in your life.
Who tf is carpet bombing in GRB?
CAS can start spawncamping you within ~@3 minutes into the match while LOSING. In fact, a team that loses more tanks ends up having more planes in the air to the point that I frequently see people at ~6.3 BR taking out BT-5s and pumas and other very low BR light tanks and SPAA, suiciding into a point to spawn a plane and begin harrassing the enemy team.
I’ve had a fair few games where I got bombed out of my position as Centurion MKI where we held all 3 points and had map advantage, then I respawned in my ratel and tried to leave spawn and immediately got strafed. Then spawn Bosvark and there’s like 4 planes circling over spawn. Kill 1 or 2 and then die before able to leave.
That’s just a Ratel issue. Also if you’re often facing swarms of planes, then keep an AEC AA in your lineup. It’s unstrafable.
This is an RB discussion so GTFO
Alright - good luck “fighting back” against enemy air attacks - very difficult to spot, and because tanks in RB are much slower and sluggish, are easier to bomb and strafe.
SPAA does not do well in RB unless the enemy air is stupid and aims right at you. And you rarely see spaa unless it’s the spg-in-disguise - the ZSU-57-2 which is more often than not used for attacking ground vehicles.
Your earlier post about spamming artillery was hot air then. It’s only generated by time and is slow to recover. And you often have to guess on where to land it.
I hardly ever play RB mostly because of the CAS. Lose more tanks to that than I do to enemy tanks and artillery combined.
Lol yup. Qtips just cope maxxing at this point
LOL he was talking to you - this is your post complaining about artillery. Oh, my.
cope som mor
He isn’t the one coping because he got TK’d by Arty, XD
Yep, he’s coping cause he doesn’t know how to play SPAA
That’s not coping, that’s just a skill issue.
If said issue exists of course.
Eh, as long as you don’t get strafed it’s not that hard to hit planes while they’re flying low.
Biggest revelation for me was to aim somewhat significantly ABOVE the plane, not level. The velocity of SPAA 20 mm experiences fairly significant drop at 1-2 km distance, more so than if you were leading in a plane (plus with a plane, you’re shooting from above).
But the “As long as you don’t get strafed” is a big ask at times if they decided to live inside your spawn.
It’s both.
I don’t often play RB, but I can’t honestly recall the last time I died from artillery.
It just doesn’t happen often enough to complain about.
Yeah, @QTip_44
If you learn your ballistic lead for common cannon types, it really helps with SPAA in GRB
