Artillery is less of a guaranteed death than CAS is. Once a plane takes notice of you, good chance you are dead.

Artillery, even if you don’t / can’t move, still has a good chance of not landing close enough to your tank that it will disable or kill you.

And unlike CAS, don’t recall seeing to many spawn-kills from artillery…

Atleast CAS is easy to simply shoot down. I can take down a P-51 with my Dicker Max’s massive cannon, I can’t take out an artillery strike.

Maybe once everyone 1-2 days. At higher BRs practically never, but at 3.7 where everyone just flies in a straight line towards you it’s not difficult.

Either way, you can actually counterplay against CAS, unlike arty

I agree the idiotic artilery needs to be removed, lights tanks suffers the most by its spam

Ngl I’m more in favor of a rework that only gives arty to tanks (mainly SPAA) that can’t fight back against other tanks. If SPAA, and SPAA only got the precision strike from the Mechanized Infrantry major update, then that could eliminate the no-skill and the spam problem.

I already thought the old announcement of an enemy artillery strike was stupid, but I think the warning with the coloured smoke etc. is even more stupid. Especially in a mode that calls itself realistic.
Was that more understandable now?

I personnaly have 0 issues with the artillery in the game. Tbh i’ve been playing since 2017 and i don’t really see it pop up in the killfeed that often or find it annoying being targeted by it from low br to top tier. It’s a fun extra mechanic that can be usefull against camping or hiding targets. Or to make a group brake up or temporarly immobilsise a target. Oh and don’t forget the multiple orange smokes and big red warning text in the middel of your screen so that you have plenty of time to move.

Accuracy wise artillery isn’t that accurate and sometimes doesn’t do anything at all. But that isn’t/wasn’t different in the real world (past and present).
Plus there is some time between the artillery firing, it coming close to the field, it triggering the smoke and warning and after that impact. Because yes, you can actually find and destroy the artillery if you’re in a plane making it unusable for the rest of the match.
It used to be attached to your af a few years ago, but sometimes it is an unmarked unit you can find somewhere outside the playing field.

So what you mean by spammable? It maybe is in arcade but not in rb. After using it, there is a cooldown that prevents spam. Plus not all types of tanks get the mechanic anyway. And yes it can take you out in an open top vehicle easier (or a light tank), but so can a .50 on an enemy tank or a bi plane that is targeting you. Spending crew point can slighty increas your luck on getting a bonus frag but nothing crazy.

So i really don’t see the problem here…
It’s been here for ages and it fits the game.

tbf, you don’t have dozens of tanks calling in artillery on random places. The realism argument doesn’t make sense. artillery as it is is already unrealistic, removing the warnings would only make gameplay worse.

Uhh hmm I think removing the warinings would make it more fun and more deadly cause then they enemy is more likely to get hit without the warning.

that would make the skilless spam and reliance on random chance even worse

arty is limited to certian tanks types so maybe you should get mad at people spamming that type of tank and not arty

Alternatively, limit arty to only tanks that have trouble killing other tanks such as XM800T or R3 T20 (it would be a case by case basis) and replace the arty with the precision strike from the Mechanized Infantry Aprill fools update.
