Remove air spawn for interceptor

Playing as a heavy bomber is already an painfull thing, but not being bad enough there are interceptors which are fighters with air spawn, they already have powerfull engines to climb very fast so why does it need to have an air spawn? is it just to kill that dude in less than a minute in the match ?, for them to have an energy advantage to every single fighter ?

Ask for a buff to bombers rather than nerfing a class of plane that often can’t climb well.

Regarding IC spawn:

  • The concept of of prop fighters with interceptor (IC) and air superiority (AS) spawn (similar, but different) implemented in wt is simply there for balancing reasons and in order to make otherwise useless aircraft (like P-61s) somehow playable.

  • From a theoretical pov a real interceptor has the goal to bring heavy armament as fast as possible to high altitude - therefore an altitude advantage after spawn is simply increasing their impact without any necessity.

  • That gaijin is spreading air spawns at will is no secret. The forum is full with examples of fighters having an IC/AS air spawn despite being long-range escorts (like F-82) or night fighters (like the mentioned P-61) - and actual interceptors like XF5F or 109 Z without an air spawn.

  • Most of these air spawn fighters (including the P-38) are inferior to any standard single engine fighter with good climb like Spitfires or 109s.

Regarding bombers vs Interceptors:

I mean this issue has 2 aspects:

  1. An interceptor has the purpose and is optimized to fight enemy bombers, whilst the bomber is optimized to bomb. It is therefore always an unequal fight.
  2. The overwhelming majority of experienced fighter pilots don’t fly aircraft with IC / AS spawn (outside of daily/special tasks) and go for bombers last as they are no threat regarding the outcome of a match. That’s why mostly rookies fly aircraft with IC / AS spawn - simply because they are not good enough to fight enemy fighters.

So avoiding contact should be your first goal as bomber pilot - either by flying detours, late spawning or reverse climbing (=away from the center above your own airfield) is often successful as a lot of guys in IC/AS spawn planes are not patient enough to keep altitude and tend to go too early too low.

A last advice: Flying heavy bombers during a grinding event is planned suicide.
