I remember when it became on by default for PC at one point and I turned it off so fast because it kept locking onto the wrong targets and kept messing up my aim by dragging me back to the centre of the plane compared to letting me lead.
They’re literally just coping for getting shot down, it’s not an advantage and even if it was consoles are already at an inherent disadvantage since it’s WAY easier to aim accurately with a mouse than joystick lol.
But if it locks, and it tracks, it’s an assist, no matter how you want to paint it.
It’s unfortunate that you need to use it but I know I get shot down real fast by consoles, and it’s no coincidence. Like, really sucks that you end up needing it, but it is an advantage.
it’s not an advantage because they’re not starting from the same starting point, as I stated console players are inherently at a disadvantage due to having to use a joystick to aim accurately, target track simply makes it easier to do that, it doesn’t input lead for you, you still have to know the velocity of the guns.
It’s equity vs equality, it’s to bring a level of fairness.
Also you getting shot down by mostly console players is entirely anecdotal.
Absolute nonsense… You can’t ignore that it locks and tracks targets…
If I can lock, track, and merely move my thumb slightly, keeping lock and track on, that is absolutely an advantage.
The fact that people keep saying it’s not an advantage, every time anyone even mentions this, even when you are having it recognised as needing to be to make up for your situation with sticks and buttons, makes it outrageous that it’s not recognised more or even acknowledged as to how effective it is.
Whilst that may be true, there is a point where it gets a bit on the nose.
Especially when it’s being discussed, but made out to be non-existent…
No, it’s not actually… I can commonly cross over the field and not be touched by normal players, but when I get a snap shot that comes in extremely close and I know that I can hold J and it will show a consoler name, I know for a fact it’s not anecdotal…
And finds them
So being able to track helos / planes flying behind obstacles , trees etc is not advantage?
Being able to have a lock on helos / planes and starting to take own lead is not advantage on non radar AA’s `?
Being able to shoot missiles on helos / planes what are behind terrain/trees where radar cant see is just not advantegous? Not to mention not even using radar and giving warning
It is just normal that most effective AA players commonly on own or enemy team are console players up to 12.0
And suddenly having same type of locking system in PC on GRB is cheating :D , But since you have console have it here. Oh and remember WT supports Mouse and Kb on consoles what many games wont support, and still enjoy your baby WH and aim assist.
👍
This discussion looks mainly like a bunch of blind folks talking about colors.
I wrote some time ago:
Most of the shooter cheats (outside playing them via PC or jailbreak the console itself) for console games were actually centered around the usage of MnK in addition to the controller and macros added to 3rd party controllers.
One of the best shooters of all time (SWBF 2015) got ruined by players with PC cheats and/or MnK usage - but EA never cared. Their cheats became so incredibly sophisticated (like artificial input lags) that you had to be extremely good at the game to have a realistic fighting chance.
The aim-assist in classic console games is outside CQC actually a disadvantage as soon as you have to consider trajectories with ballistic curves.
Thing is, this isn’t a disadvantage… Especially when it’s locking on and tracking.
Whilst it’s for playability, it’s not for equality or fairness.
buddy you should Google the definitions of those words because it’s for exactly that
‘buddy’ stop denying that it gives you an advantage…
This is how EVERY point made about it becomes because people want to explain and defend their advantage and deny it is anything short of a track and lock function, where we don’t have it.
I even made mention that we had it enabled by default at one point on PC, but most of us disabled it because it would drag us to the centre of the target when we were trying to lead.
You’re pulling a stick just off centre, and even if the plane is close enough, just lock/track and fire… That’s how crazy it is…
Not to mention it tracks out of sight targets.
