Removal of Japanese Ho-Ri SPGs from the Research Tree and Sale

Every other premium has gotten a 50% sale before it’s removal 🫩

Could you at least disclose the plans for their potential replacements, if possible?

Had to do the little rush to start some research on the production.

Spoiler

A lot easier than the mad rush i had to do to unlock Maus/341/10.5/Panther2 back in the day.

Anyway, I bought the HoRi Prototype in a sale when it was 50% off. ‘Just cause’. Didn’t realise I’d made the worthy investment of a vehicle that would be removed for good.

Yeah, as good as I hear the Type99 is (only just unlocked it to get to production), I ain’t sticking around 7.3 to play that with a 90mm M47 as back up. Better off rushing straight to 8.3, sadly.

Well, that’s interesting and sad news.

Thanks for the answer, regardless.

As we mentioned quite a few times, sadly there is not enough viable information for the implementation of this tank.

Should that chnage in the future if new information comes to light, maybe its possible to reconsider at this stage.

the thing is, no one will care about a certain vehicle UNTIL it is announced to be removed

,No matter if a vehicle is removed, expensive or limeted time event and considerd rare, Techtree vehicles will be more rare as how much time you need to grind them"

The type 75 and 99 SPH’s are no where near close to replacements for the Ho-Ri. Not even the same solar system close.

The Ho-Ri’s are relatively heavily armoured (other than what appears to be a bug that if you hit those boxes armour gets ignored) with a gun that is designed to be used as a direct fire weapon with an AP shell. It’s a tank destroyer.

The Type 75 and 99 are SPG’s - self propelled guns, that are designed for INDIRECT FIRE which is why they should have never been added to the game until the dev team figured out some way to make indirect fire work even on this games maps, which is not impossible especially for guns with higher elevations that can shorten range, but they are not armed with shells meant for direct fire against actual armour (as tanks have the least armour typically on the top and bottom and if they are hitting tanks they are dropping HE on top of them) and since they aren’t supposed to be anywhere near the front lines typically - have protection that barely, if it at all, protects it from 12.7mm machine guns, let alone the 20mm and up auto-cannons or any type of tank, most of which can fire rounds faster than both these vehicles or just as fast, so if the HE round does not take them out in that one go - which happens a lot - their toast. If you seriously want these to be the ‘replacements’ for the Ho-Ri, then you need to give me a button that switches them to pointing their gun up in the air so I can drop shells on other tanks from range if my teammates spot them and there isn’t a building or something protecting them. Otherwise - they are an absolute joke, and a bad one at that, least in Arcade.

I’ll say it again - make some. These, the Panther II, the Flakpanzer 341, the R2Y’s, and all the rest - stop it. You don’t want to take them out of the tech tree, fine, you want to take them off sale all the time and limit it - fine. But stop making it so some players have access and others don’t. It ain’t right that I’ll have the Ho-Ri production cause I just went to put points in it, and I got the prototype when it was 50% off because people were predicting you’d make this move at some point starting last year - but anyone who joins later wont. It ain’t right I have the R2Y’s - and others won’t, more so because y’all never added replacements that line dead ends in rank 3 at 4.0 now that you bumped up the B7A from 3.7.

The battlepass used to have 4 vehicles in it - any removed premiums you could cycle back in as the 4th vehicle. Anything that was in the tech tree - move it off to the side from the tech tree for people to research - even lock them behind ‘you must research all existing rank x vehicles to research this’ to give more of a reason for foldered vehicles to get unlocked - maybe even make it ‘spade all the vehicles’, so as an example R2Y’s would be ‘unlock and/or spade all Rank 5 Japanese Aircarft’ to be able to start researching them. Or since they aren’t premiums, unless you want to make them in to some with better SL bonuses and all - put them in the Warbond shop at half the price of the premiums as an alternative option for spending them on vehicles you might not have. If it wasn’t too long and a headache already I’d even say make them squadron vehicles. Create a long form, permanent ‘campaign’ where you have to complete a series of tasks like the battlepass, related to which ever vehicle your trying to unlock, that’ll take a while to grind out for something else people can work on as they do other things or on their down time between events or whatever. Something.

Because with these vehicles being ‘fake’ or whatever - you have room to toy with balance more, but also there is a simple fact that if players can access a vehicle and play it - they can learn about it, and it’s weaknesses. When you deny access to these vehicles, you deny players better information on how to fight them, making them even stronger. And ‘go watch a youtube video’ or ‘go look on the forums’ isn’t an answer cause not everyone learns like that, some people need the first hand knowledge.

So what viable info is missing? Photographs to confirm it was built?

As far as I’m concerned the only controversial thing here is the way Gaijin keeps treating these semi-unhistorical vehicles.

Either keep them availabe to all, or remove them completely

Stop with the FOMO

I couldn’t care less about this thing its not FOMO those who are collectors can get it those who aren’t can get it those who don’t care don’t care nobody is forcing anyone to buy this its just a normal goodbye tank sale

Remind me: what exactly does Gaijin need on the tank that’s not currently available? Also, has any consideration been given to reaching out to FineMolds (as in Gaijin directly reaching out) to access their private archive? I mean, if the company can make a fully accurate model of the thing, they’ve gotta have enough information, so it stands to reason they’d be worth reaching out to.

As far as the Ho-Ri removal goes, what’s Gaijin’s stance on the Ho-Ri II that actually started construction and we have a suggestion for? Is it a valid potential future addition, and are there any near-term or future plans for it? Additionally, if we’re removing ahistorical vehicles, is there any chance the Chinese M10, M36, and T-34 Obr43 get removed as they’re either incorrect variants or variants never used by China?

I did the same last year. My prediction that they would be removed soon after Thai subtree release came true.

I’d say for a dreams come true but it didn’t really exist as a real vehicle no? Why should Japan get special treatment again with yet another paper vehicle?

So this is just hunger marketing
