Removal of Japanese Ho-Ri SPGs from the Research Tree and Sale

Honest question: now that this one is going, what’s left on that “to be removed someday” list? As far as early-years vehicles they don’t want to be in the game anymore. Honestly can’t think of much left now, this was the last one really.

(Separate from the “should get removed cause it’s cancer” lists we all have.)

good luck on that, it may take more than a couple days after the start of a month to get it I think. been a while since I wrote an article.

I grabbed the north korean jet in the china tree because if they follow through on adding the combined korea tree like they said they would, it’s almost guaranteed to go offsale forever.

Yeah I suppose that’s all that’s left, cleaning up vehicles because of future new subtrees.

i believe the F-16AJ is one of the last as far as “fictional” vehicles are concerned

F16AJ will be removed aswell eventually since it never existed

they even made a blog about it when they added it explaining why they added it in the first place

good riddance. Now remove Ostwind 2 and zestorer 45 and we are on the right path

F-16AJ probably won’t be removed without something to take it’s place, so when that happens it’s time.

F-2A Early with 4 AIM-7 and 4 AIM-9L

I’ll say my prayers for F-16AJ when I see the devblog for that.

Respectfully I think that’s a misread. What they actually said:

“First of all, we would like to be clear on the reasons for adding the F-16AJ to the game, whilst there are massive suggestions from players to add the Mitsubishi F-2 fighter-bomber to the Japanese tech tree. Indeed, the F-2, which is a 4++ generation aircraft, will appear in the game along with comparable aircraft from other nations. However, at the moment, adding the F-2 to the game is not possible due to its significant superiority in the quality of radar equipment and far more advanced air-to-air missiles. At the same time, to date, Japan remained the only gaming nation lacking a 4th generation aircraft. Therefore, when choosing between forcing Japanese aviation enthusiasts to wait for the Viper Zero a few major updates, or giving Japan a 4th generation aircraft now, we chose the second option. We hope you support our decision!”

Nothing suggesting this is in any way temporary. Lots of vehicles in game “existed” which were trials, etc. Konigstiger, Swedish helicopters etc. Open that door and then all the captured vehicles that never actually fought for the nation that captured them would come up as well. They’ve never said they’d ever take those away, only vehicles where there was “questionable technical research.”

Probably the Chinese M10 (wrong variant, never used by China in that Configuration), Chinese M36 (should be the M36B2), Chinese T-34 Obr43 (NK tank, never used by China), and probably a couple of others on iffy ground as is.

I believe the fine mold files are now public. Unfortunately, it doesn’t contain any further info as to the vehicles construction. It’s just more blueprinting

As much as I dislike the vehicle’s effect on the game (especially as a premium pack vehicle), there’s zero difference in surviving documentation between the Ostwind 2 (1 possibly functional prototype and some turrets, zero photos) and the Zerstorer 45 (2 possibly functional prototypes and some turrets, zero photos), but somehow only one gets the love here. :) They even ended up in the same junkheap, basically.

oh yea true.

zestorer 45 should be deleted too

Frankly, I’d just like Gaijin to acknowledge that they’re dubious and for them to add the real Zerstörer 45

Ironically, what we have in-game did exist; it’s a factory test mule that had the quad 30 strapped to it for trials to see if the gun could work on the move. It’s just not the real Zerstörer 45.

Its much like the 105 GSR we mentioned. Sadly all there is to really go by are drawings, sketches and very limited information.

Making a model kit of something is also sadly not quite the same as a fully functional 3D model with detailed internals, functionality and damage model.

We don’t have any current plans for any other Ho-Ri variants. As the vehicle only started construction at best, its not something we have under consideration at this time.

Ah well, that’s quite a shame. Thank you for the response, Smin.

Of course, I was just wondering since it was via that information that Wargaming was able to make their functional 3D Model for World of Tanks. So I was just wondering if there was anything FineMolds had that would help Gaijin. But I know different games have different standards and requirements, etc.

Other games may have much lower requirements, particularly when it comes to damage models being more simplified or the lack of any detailed 3D interiors or DM interactions in that way. So sadly what may work for one could be quite different here.
