Regarding the Hull Armor of the M1A2 SEP V3

If we’re talking about realism so often, then where is the M829A4 round, and where is the 3.5-second reload on an expert crew?

They accept sources, that bug report didn’t have sources, it had a singular secondary source, which is known not to be enough for any vehicle.

Multiple secondary sources are a minimum.

And yet they provided no source when reducing the bulkhead from 19mm to 9mm

Firstly, the statement ‘Any attempt to significantly enhance the protection capability of modern main battle tanks will result in an increase in the weight of the vehicle, often accompanied by changes in the external dimensions of the corresponding parts.’ This statement is incorrect. You can only say that it holds true without changing the structure and protection principle of the composite armor. A good example is the overall thickness of the armor, which did not significantly increase from the 105mm glass fiber in the middle of the single-layer sandwich of the 1981 T-80B to the T-80B with five layers on top after 1984. The weight of the entire vehicle is still 43 tons, but due to the change in the filling scheme of the composite armor, its KE performance has been improved from just over 400 to 500-550 (depending on the test results of different ammunition), which has increased KE protection by more than 100+. In terms of weight, let alone the KE protection performance of a single high-density ceramic like K2 and NERA with equal weight and thickness Is the array the same? How can you be sure that M1 has not undergone structural improvements to its body armor package from 1979 to 2026? Who told you that if the weight and volume remain unchanged, the protective performance will also remain unchanged? You should know that the Soviet Union only used a series of composite armor design schemes, including casting steel clip aluminum alloy, casting steel clip quartz sand, casting steel clip ceramic balls, casting steel clip NERA array, and welding steel clip NERA array, between 1971 and 1991. Can you say that these different filler layouts have the same level of protection at the same thickness and weight? If not, why do you think that the M1 body armor has not undergone any changes in the past 40 years from 1979 to the present, so it still has the same level of protection as 40 years ago?

they also just renerfed the M1A1 armor so they 100% intend on keeping the Sepv3 armor where it is

Doubt.
If SEPv3’s LFP armor is about ~460mm then you’re correct.

im about 95% sure the devs arnt gonna add anything else to the tank unless the community makes a big enough fuss about it on the level of the review bombing from before.

That may be the protection that the TUSK tile provides… did you shoot and see if it penetrated?

Ironically the NL 2A5/2A6 should have B-Tech (2A4) hull armor, but Gaijin just decided to give them C-Tech anyways

The composite array isn’t loading in from what I’m gathering from that.
Bug report time.
