Regarding the Hull Armor of the M1A2 SEP V3

Could they have possibly… lied? Heretical thought, I know.

hilarious how Gaijin ignores technological leaps in armor/weight for the Abrams family, and believes only T-Series tanks have made advancements in armor/weight effectiveness and efficiency.

I’ve seen countless sources claiming the Abrams has had weight reductions in places like electronics, increased armor while reducing the weight, etc.

I guess they’re waiting to release the end-of-line Abrams as a Premium, botch it, reluctantly give it correct characteristics after pre-order sales don’t sell…just like they did with the F-14D, and I’m sure has happened to other vehicles for other nations too.

My latest information was that they calculated the improved mine protection as additional weight while in reality it got 30% lighter instead while offering this better protection…
Regarding electronics there seems to be quite a little confusion as to my knowledge the copper-to-fiber conversion was/is meant for the projected M1A3 and I don’t know if it was integrated into the SEPv3 already.

correct me if im wrong, but doesnt it say “sep v3” on the left side?

Sounds like a marketing lie to me…

In gaijin’s infinite wisdom in Merkava’s upgrade program the tank gained 20 tons not in armor improvements or additional protection but through APS system solely. I don’t think that if Rafael were using vacuum tubes as means of processing for the system it would come even to 5th of that, but here we are, but in gaijin’s opinion the same company that made a system that can intercept a mach 1.4 dart did not managed to figure out physical protection past cast steel. In gaijin’s worldview NATO is technologically inferiors with their free markets and private contracting. So not only are they denying the legitimacy of the from source documentation but also history of USSR at large. I think we’re talking to someone from a different dimension where USSR and by proxy Russia did their own research and did not, throughout their history, were stealing from western designs.

Yes, I initially missed that and then later said it was a sepv3 prototype

The Missing"Shell Shatter" Mechanic for High Angles Real-world physics dictate that when a hyper-velocity dart strikes an armored plate at an angle past 80–82 degrees, the sideways forces cause the rod to instantly snap or disintegrate. It dumps its energy into the air as fragments Gaijin’s physics engine does not properly simulate structural stress and disintegration on the Abrams UFP. Instead of simulating a 2-foot-long metal dart bending and breaking, the game treats the round as a perfectly rigid, indestructible point of kinetic energy. Abrams UFP is 83-85 they need to add real physics.

Btw using swedish tank trials is illegal.

Gaijin accidentally used classified documents.

accidentally?

I know its classified buy gaijin uses classified documents all the time, its not the first time.

I’m gonna be brutally honest lads, it feels like this whole thread is nothing bur grinding water, nothing is going to be done, it’s only gonna get worse for NATO and gaijin will keep shoveling money like dirt. Just no point to discuss problems with someone who has no intention to change or even listen. There’s just no point of spending our limited nerves and passion on this, let’s be selfish for once. Nothing new under the sun.

This is a terrible way to go about it when you already had over 1000lbs lightened off the tank due to rewiring and even the mine protection was redesigned to be lighter.

Similarly, your source

The man himself who scanned the documentation for you to even get this image in the first place points out how you’re misapplying it.

I suppose American tanks don’t go through modernization for Gaijin.

“All the weight goes to the turret” even if there is modernizaiton

Interesting how theyre so keen on responding to our concerns regarding the sepv3 and then dont respond to any of our concerns regarding the sepv3

What’s better about this whole situation is there using documents from 15+ years ago on tank that entered production in 2017. Even the Swedish trials were in 1993 and using documents from then in todays time shouldn’t be viable.

The Japanese community has expressed similar concerns about the Type 10 and Type 90 tanks for several years now. They have raised issues in various forms, including the evolution of the armor materials themselves and the size and mass of the vehicles. However, the answer from GaijinEnetmant has always been “no.”
