Regarding Air Simulator Battles:

I wanted to know how does one find enemies? Most of my time is just spent flying around looking for enemy planes? How many players in a match is considered a good amount? And what time of the day is the game most active in player count?

Do you play jets with radar or jets/prop without radar?

Mostly props and jets without radar.

Ah, I am sorry then, I won’t be able to help you as I most play 12.0 br+.

Assuming a BR where you dont have a radar to rely upon (Especailly no PD radar) then the best bet is to fly where you think the enemy will be, which sounds both obvious and completely useless, but that is the best advice I can give. Fly near any active objectives, or near an AF and simply wait for an enemy to be spotted, this is also why I like aircraft that can take a few rockets or bombs so that I can do that whilst looking for an enemy. Lowest I go at the moment though is usually about 8.7/9.0. So I’ll leave it to someone else to comment on prop tier.

8+ aside is pretty good, but does vary from BR to BR. Like 11.3 you can usually have pretty full matches.

In the evenings I guess, so 6-8pm for a respective zone, its why I often search for both EU and US (im based in the UK) to get more possible matches

I did try the SU33 but got killed by a Fox-3. I don’t really know how to play against those.

Thanks!

Look up how to notch

Here’s some advice on how to enjoy playing SBEC with Propeller Planes.

1. Aim for Point A

Capturing Point A will reduce the enemy team’s ticket gauge. Enemies will come to stop you, so you can reliably find and engage enemy aircraft.

2. Perform ground attacks during downtime

Attack enemy bases or frontline ground units(Tank and SPAA). This greatly reduces the enemy ticket gauge and contributes significantly to your team. Enemies may also come to intercept you, giving you more opportunities for air combat.

3. Keep shooting down bombers

Bombers in this game are extremely fragile, like sugar candy, and are easy to shoot down. If you allow them to bomb friendly bases, your team’s ticket gauge will decrease, so keep a close watch over the skies above your bases. Very rarely, they may be escorted by fighter planes.

or maybe it’s skill issue

The capture point (A point on most maps, I point on Denmark), near bombing sites (based, convoys, etc), and friendly AI (“defend friendly bombers at E3” for example).

There are three map sizes: an 8km sector, a 16km sector, and one 12km sector. Choose the smaller ones if you want more action. These include maps like Tunisia, Stalingrad, and Sicily. Bombers typically fly straight to the Airfield target. Many also destroy bases, and the best fights are in the capture zone.
To start, fly low and look around, scan the sky 15 degrees above the horizon at a distance of 10 km from you

This is unrelated but when flying i can aim and dogfight alright but as soon as i have to do any significant amount of rolling i get disoriented and confused like my planes rolls way more then i intended and i lose track. Is this common? Is this because i don’t use head track?

Is there a way for me to see the map sizes? And also aren’t the same maps bigger or smaller depending on BR bracket?

Depending on the br, the location of the airports changes. For example, Denmark is a large map, but on br 5.0, the airports are closer together, closer to the center of the map.

If the field of view feels too narrow, set the “Zoom Axis” correction value to -50%. This will pull the camera back to the pilot’s head position, which should make things a bit more comfortable and give you better situational awareness. Also, what you need might not be something that can be instantly fixed just by listening to advice. Everything in this game requires practice.Start by training your ability to predict the enemy’s movement direction. While keeping your eyes on the enemy, apply only the precise amount of stick input necessary with your hand. It’s very similar to driving a car — you don’t yank the wheel, you make smooth, measured corrections.
VR or head tracking devices are not necessarily required. In my case, I control the view using only the hat switch on my joystick.

You can defeat them in same way like you do it in Air rb. Notch them or multipath them. If you are having issue notching missiles in sim, then try joining matches having low player count and try practing there. If you have a friend, you can practice with them as well.
Once’s then lock onto you and fire at you, notch and remember the general direction. Once’s you notch turn back into the direction and using your radar (or visually) try to find them and kill them with your SARH missiles
If you don’t know how to notch then I recommend you to watch some videos about it.

If you still don’t want to fight ARH carriers then you could also join 13.0 to 12.0 br bracket. Though there are still some ARH carrier like F-14 and AV-8B+ that you would be facing. (If it is 13.0 in sim, I don’t remember if it is or not)

(Also, Sorry for responding late)
