The developers don’t! The developers never release extra updates just for Sim.

Gaijin has a policy of not “taking away” anyone’s vehicles even when they are removed from the game. So your idea isn’t going to happen. Least of all sim is not very popular, so they aren’t going to piss off the majority to appease a tiny fraction of the playerbase.
What you should be putting up for suggestion is some kind of recognition system to differentiate the teams. Markings or different paint schemes (skins). This is how armies using the same equipment IRL wars tell each other apart.

Though tbh, sometimes even that fails.
The KWI C has a pretty distinctive turret, Balkenkreuz on said turret, and base Dunkelgelb colour scheme. And in addition to that, you can also slap more markings on top…
When I used to play sim more frequently (haven’t in a couple months), I would always start a match in chat and, when seeing we had say a friendly M18, always typed in chat, “don’t shoot the friendly Hellcat”. Or, when I was in the KW 1 myself, “Friendly KW 1 going C by way of column 2” (or something like that).
Now, there’s always going to be blue on blue incidents in sim… I’ve caused my fair share as well, probably one of the reasons why I don’t play it as often because it sucks so bad when you make that mistake. But it’s one thing to have a reasonable misunderstanding, but when you’ve been repeatedly warned what to watch out for and still shoot a KW 1 C in the back of the turret… yeah. No amount of markings will help some people tbh.
That said, I agree that taking vehicles away is not the answer.
Something they might consider to reduce blue on blue, is to introduce a voice line from the commander when you rangefind an ally. You know how already now, the commander starts saying the distance of the target even before the rangefinder has finished? If the commander said “ally at coordinates” once you press R, you may be able to reduce blue on blue without having username tags or something.
Nobody is taking away anything, just moving certain vehicles to other team purely for SIM match making purposes.
Would have Zero impact on other Game modes or TT.
