I reached Toptier and now i can start researching the Su-27 and the MiG-29A (9-13).
Should i research the Fulcrum or the Flanker? or its better not researching nothing cuz rn its impossible to play with the new Su-30SM and F/A-18C late?
Any tips are welcome.
Depends on how you want to play and where you want to get, but Su-27 is definitely better with only a .3 increase, which rn is a bit of an issue due to the sheer traffic of Su-30SMs and F-18Cs. The MiG-29 though is only really worth it if you like the plane already, whether for gameplay or just looks reasons

I’d say get the 27 and ignore the migs till we get a fm fix for them. Also dont expect much from the flanker

i prefer missiles than maneuverability, the “fat-nker” has very bad energy retention, so i will use all the missiles and pray to don’t get eliminated in a dogfight with F-16/18.
another question, the Flanker is good at dogfights against F-14/15s? cuz they’re very big like the Su-27.
Can’t speak on the 27 but from my experience in the 33 it can do really well, and now due to the addition of the AOA switch you can easily get a cheeky R-73 launch without sacrificing too much

The 27SM is pretty even with the F15 i think, dunno bout the 13.0 one. You do get your 1 or 2 chances for a R73 shot but after that its over against any of the better jets.

there’s a lot of differences between the su-27 and the su-33.
the su-33 is more stable than the 27 cuz it has canards.
also the 33 is slower than the 27, but can carry 2 missiles more than the 27.
the turning rate is also slower due to the addition of weight by the canards and airframe extention.
Flanker.
I will preface this that i dont fly the Su27 because i just instantly jumped over it to play Su27SM, but in general i would always suggest going for flanker.
I got the Mig29A for germany and while its a good plane, you only really get 2 good missiles and its extremely fuel hungry but it is on a somewhat much nicer BR.
With the flanker you trade higher BR for more missiles. R27ERs are still incredibly good, will obviously not be as great when youre going against fox 3s but they are still the best SARHs ingame.
On top of that with the funky new AoA button and HMS with R73s you can do some really funny things with it.
Additionally the follow up planes are also pretty important.
The follow up for mig29a is the mig29smt which in general looks absolutely shit. Its got some real issues in form of agility where i was able to outturn it in the F4F KWS, a phantom (with slats but still) outturning a 4th gen fighter is pretty big meme. It does get R77s but i personally wouldnt really bother with it.
On the other hand in the flanker line you have Su27SM which is a plane i really like flying, stock grind is pretty ass but once you get the R77s going, its atleast personally really fun plane to fly, tho biggest weakspot on it is probably the radar, its not the best, especially for ground RB if you plan to field it there with the 4 KH29s.
However past the 27SM is now the Su30SM which has better R77-1s, thrust vectoring nozzles, absolutely bullshit Air2Ground loadout and up to 14 Air2Air missiles, with HMD, pretty ok overall FM (tho the engines are kinda weak since the plane is fat as hell, compared to stuff like Strike Eagle) and much better radar (day and night difference compared to the Su27SM).
Id genuinely stick with flanker and if you manage get the Su27SM.

idk why u are talking in my post, dude.
u should be doing some wikis in War Thunder Wiki and winning Golden Eagles.
u told me ur experience playing with the su-27sm, and if u say this in a wiki, u will get some GE and the popularity of a content creator.
