Guys, you are welcome in this topic due to giving your “like” under my comment in BR changing topic =)
Also- respect for guys, who already put “like” to this topic=))) Maybe someday DEV-s will see this and understand, that we want these planes like they are, perfect modelling can wait.

Perhaps they can be researched similarly to the Maus, only open for research on specific days.

Like an option.

It wasn’t just the two SB-2M’s and two Yer-2’s that were hidden in 1.37 patch, there was also two S.M.79’s (serie 4 and bis/N) in German tech tree that got the same treatment and were never brought back when the Italian tech tree was introduced.

If I still remember correctly, the imbalance was the reason for hiding these planes from new accounts. Large number of players made full lineup from these in Air Arcade just to do suicide bombing runs. So many players just suicide bombed themselves to top tier jets (current rank V’s). This probably was also the reason why game changed from original 20 tier tech tree to current rank I-V(III) system.

Previous problem likely wouldn’t exist today due to current research system’s negative RP modifier for researching vehicles more than one rank above the one being used. Also there’s been multiple flight model updates making bombers behave more realistically since then.

One way to bring them back is to implement it same way as some other removed vehicles:
OS2U Kingfishers are unlocked by getting to rank II in US Ships,
Original French reserve tanks are unlocked by reaching rank II in French tanks,
Original Japanese reserve tanks are unlocked by reaching rank II in Japanese tanks, etc

Also, the hidden SB-2M-103U also had it’s unlockable PLAAF camoflage removed from every player’s account for no real reason when the Chinese air tree was added.

I do not know, will it help somehow, but do not forget to put “likes” under the first message in the topic- I truly believe it can help to get this message to DEVs.

Maybe try make a suggestion?

I see, then I’m not entirely sure, I guess the next best way is just to try and increase traction on the discussion.

Dear @Il_Signor_Regio @Headnaught @WreckingAres283 or any other Suggestion Moderators, do I understand it correctly that this topic could never be sent to developer’s team, even if it get lots (how many is needed?) of “likes”? My logic says it is suggestion, but maybe there are other rules at this forum, like I was informed from your side. Please let us all know how can such topics reach developer’s eyes, what is needed for that? Thank you!

No answers for a week…

Linked with other topic about the same aircrafts. Can anybody give me any advice?

you mean to remove every single outdated vehicle in game???

That’s the exact reverse opposite of what I meant. I meant that a vehicle being visually outdated is no reason to not be added.

Can somebody explain- how this topic could be NOT a suggestion? Are suggestions only about totally new things? So- topic about any change in the game is not a suggestion? Seems to be a bit cringe, isn-t it?..

Ok, I believe Community Managers can deliver the message to DEV-s, if they find this interesting enough. Many thanks for all, who have supported this topic with their “likes” and comments! Let us hope that these planes will be returned soon.

Do we know if the SB 2M-103 MV-3 and removed yers were used by other countries? At least the SB 2M-103U is in the Chinese tree.

Yer’s were never used by anyone else

Captured Finnish SB-2M’s were originally mix of M-100A’s, M-103’s, M-103U’s and M-103U MV-3’s. Outside of the two planes converted into unarmed USB trainers, all were retrofitted by VL into SB 2M-103U MV-3 standard during 1943 using parts salvaged from captured airbases in Baltic States.

Brilliant, thank you for the info!

At least there’s a shot for all SB 2M variants being available for everyone.

Sad there’s not much to do for the yers though
