RDF-LT and HSTVL

I will note that the gun was changed from ADMAG to XM274 due to a bug report

ive not gone over all of the sources for it and I remember it being pretty shaky with plenty of sources stating that it used ADMAG but gaijin will likely deny changing it back without really good and clear sources

Got that backwards, the HSTVL/RDF went from the XM274 to the ADMAG gun :)

that other ammo could be huge because of how bad the current one is

It’s not, there is NO commander vision on the RDFLT

RDFLT 100% uses the same hunter/killer system as HSTVL, there’s no reason why it isn’t in the game

I think Gaijin deliberately didn’t add the smoke launchers and armor on the RDF/LT to avoid a pay to win accusation, keeping the survivability advantage to the free HSTV/L while giving the premium RDF the ammo advantage (but honestly knowing Gaijin they probably just messed up the research on the RDF lol)

With the addition of spall liners, the HSTVL’s ammo is simply not up to the task. So many times the spall liner completely eats the round, which shouldn’t happen since spall liners shouldn’t be additional modules

Yeah the low pen of the shell + Russian insane ERA + spall liners makes side shots on Russian tanks do little damage or not go though at all. I was just pointing out how the HSTV/L gets smoke, highly angled steel ufp and extra side armor that makes it much more survivable than the RDF while the RDF gets more than double the ammo count, even tough theoretically it can also get the extra armor and smoke but that would make it just a straight up better paid version of the HSTV/L

I don’t necessarily think that extra armor is needed for the RDF but smoke launchers are def a necessity. Half my deaths are from spikes or helicopters. It’s really frustrating not being able to defend against both of them.

Me when I one-shot T-90Ms with HSTVL consistently.

what are you even talking about, you dont even play it regularly with less than 25 games in the last year

And of the times I shot T-90Ms, all of them blew up in ammo explosions.
At least 1 I screwed up first shot placement.

I’ve done it against Leopard 2s as well.

I’ve been grabbing 120S on and off while playing China and Israel ground, while also playing air.
Diversity of cool vehicles matters more to me than maining a vehicle.

when have you because its been almost a year since youve gotten a kill in the HSTVL, so any experience you have is not particularly accurate to the current version of the game

The T-90M’s armor has not changed, and the HSTVL’s anti-tank capabilities has not changed, so those frags are current with the current version of the game in that context.

If I spoke on Tiger 2 105 vs Conqueror, things would be different as Tiger 2 105’s round has been corrected.

there have been no direct changes but spalling and damage is partially server side, so we do not know if there were changes there, and there are some changes in spalling and post pen damage with every major update caused by spaghetti code
