RB Spawn camp

Hi guys
What do you think about spawn protection and spawn camping ?
As for me it is just a JOKE most people rush trought the map ignoring the objectives for spawn camping… Waiting 3 secs then shooting at the freshly spawned Tanks while his team is losing the objective.
You cant really do anything about it right now if someone is waiting for u and hiding while spawn protect is active then poping up and shooting at u from behind a hill or any cover.
I think its ruining the game.

I hate it, but this is a fast action game that doesn’t care about your 500% booster or the backup vehicle that you paid for. Spawn camping is usually a problem that you can solve by yourself. If you are totally overwhelmed and cannot move because 5 powerful SPG are hiding behind a hill, then the game is likely over. Quit and join a new match.

Gaijin doesn’t care, so they’ll never address it and their map makers are the worst with where they place the spawns.

My advice, pick another spawn location, or don’t continue to spawn if your team has lost all the caps and the enemy is surrounding you, or just leave and start another match.

Don’t worry about those who’ll chime in saying you’re not a team player, and everyone should play until the bitter end. It’s a game, if you don’t enjoy the current match don’t continue by getting frustrated.

Almost like we called this ages ago.

When tanks came in (USSR and Germany) we had AT guns or something similar that would punish you for going into the enemy spawn.

Then it went to a countdown timer (same as leaving playable area of the map) that would go to destruction if you went into the enemy spawn.

Well, then you had those players who would sit in spawn and not move which caused complaints… all the while those sitting in spawn (not always) would be trying to clear a path to get out of spawn only to be punished for trying to get back into battle… Pissing and moaning on both sides have given us what we have today. Which is effectively spawn camp simulator. Whatever side gets dominance over the enemy spawn first wins… usually. I have watched entire teams ignore a single or couple enemy tanks capping all 3 zones behind them while they sat inside the spawn just waiting for the spawn protection to wear off of those who are trying to rejoin.

Sadly, Gaijin have pushed more towards a WG style of arcade gameplay but with more realistic damage models as opposed to what WT was originally where tactics and trying to play to strengths were the game winners. ARB times went from 45 minutes to 25 minutes to push for a “fast” resolution to games, GRB maps are more “pick your lane and go” (much like Gaijins counterparts maps are) as opposed to maps that encourage manuever and fire with teamwork as well as vehicles having their roles on the battlefield and using them to those strengths. 2/3 or more maps are pushed into urban environments where armored combat is not only avoided IRL as best as possible, but it has created an environement in game where you can usually guess 2 to 3 directions a majority of your team as well as the direction an enemy team may go.

Will we ever see a fix for this? Doubtful, most likely we will see it pushed even harder into what it has become. The crew lock as punishement for being spawn camped is another absolute disaster as well. Before this new gameplay style became the rule instead of the exception, crew lock was understandable. Now players are punished if they are on the losing team by either not being able to do anything but die within 10 seconds of spawning, or they get to watch a crew lock counter until the match ends. 1DL players have also helped to perpetuate this problem because they buy a 10.0+ premium, die within 4 minutes then your team is down by half against another team that is at 90% in match. Even then, I have been seeing 1DL even as low as 3.0 matches where people just want to use that one tank then bail. Gaijin needs to decide whether they want to punish 1DL players, or stop punishing those who are suffering from the side effects of the developers decisions.

You don’t even touching the critical point of this topic, the map designing. At Port Novorossiysk, Sinai and Marginot Line you don’t even have to get closer to the enemy spawn, most or all of the route leading to the cap from the enemy spawn is designed to under enemy fire all the time, so you just can sitting at the spot not far from your spawn and snipping any vehicle driving through those route and they can’t do nothing about it because those are the only route to the cap.

There actually is a small defense against that by use of the smoke rounds… that nobody takes nor uses if they do take. Once in a while it is fun to piss off the red team by hitting their position with smoke instead of trying to shoot them simply because it forces them to sit and be useless or move… but everyone has the “Dont cap kill all” mindset in match, and the most use smoke gets is when someone is tracked or have their engine out… where they cant move… and whoever shot them still knows right where they are.

As sad as it is this has been covered many times already and the devs don’t think there is a problem with spawn camping and think it’s a normal part of the game. Not going to change anytime soon.

Spawncamping occurs because:

  • It is easy
  • It is rewarding
  • It does help win because it reduces enemy SP and can likely knock people out of the match

But you need to know there are quite a few of those sniping point that covered the same route, so unless you playing with friend and can deal with several spot at the same time, otherwise you will get kill from another spot due to expose yourself to the enemy

In those cases you smoke your route, not the enemy location. They cant shoot at what they cant see. Make a wall of smoke to conceal movement. But again, nobody brings smoke nor use it effectively because it isnt “pew pew dead” gameplay

Just giving a ballpark figure to you how easy and rewarding spawncamping is, there is a spot at marginot line can spot both spawn and I get nearly 10k of SL by just scouting and getting assist, maybe some heli kill I forgot but the major income is from scouting assist

Yeah you can but how many people actually bring the smoke round in game? The only time I using smoke round is to troll a soviet milk truck by killing it with smoke LOL

Sometimes that’s the least of your problems. Try not to become a gambler, who hangs on for the small reward. Just quit and play a different nation or game mode. Progress in this game can be really slow even with premium. If I got premium again I’d grind low BR air realistic, because the RP requirement for ground at my level is never much fun. I get the occasional lucky kill but mostly it’s pain.

An enemy at spawn, should NOT be allowed to get off 3-4 shots, while still remaining under Spawn Protection. Nice free kills. So, what’s the point of the “Attack Enemy Base command”!? Once you start shooting, your protection should be GONE. As if, appearing on their map ain’t enough help, SMH.
