The thing is, if you face russia and keep respawning you will win.
I expect when they add the S2, they will have the suicide prevention hotline number pinned in the screen when you play USA
I doubt Pantisir-S2 would be in-game at some point. If Gaijin plans to increase the Ground BR far over 12.0, I guess the Pantisir-SA is a good option for substitute the S1 at 12.0, while moving S1 up.
so true hahaha
yea but the abrams also has its gun mantlet and turret ring as a weakness hiding just your hull isn’t enough
Abrams is designed poorly, thats nothing gaijin can do, its a flaw in the vehicle itself (BIG vehicle, very low composite armor in lower plate, and no composite in the driver roof)
The only armored part is the turret
That is why US top tier sucks
turret ring is also modeled wrong should be 1-2 inches lower than it currently is
It is not, you can see that these dimensions are pretty accurate here
The model in game is a measured model
the turret ring! not the entire tank the turret ring is set down into the hull by a few inches irl
Notice the actual important part on this picture which is laughable internal damage
The point of the image is see the turret ring, which are the same size on both real life and in game🤦♂️
its not the size its the position you would have to use x-ray mode to see it
What I really hate about the turret drive update is that it isn’t even realistic. It’s a turret basket, not a turret drive, and Gaijin has butchered many vehicles like this. It isn’t just a problem for the U.S., but it is in many trees not. The Shilka also has this butchered turret basket as well as the Begleitpanzer 57. Yes, some vehicles have parts of the turret drive attached to the turret basket, but the turret basket it’s self is just a few millimeter thick piece of metal. I might make a post discussing this in full, as this will become an issue in the future for many if not fixed.
It’s the teammates that are causing the downfall of top tier US!! Low level players and 1 death leavers heavily impact the outcome of the match. I’ve been in teams where it shows why the US doesn’t have healthcare, and I’ve been in others where it made the US look like a 3rd world county’s military.
I think the Abrams is fine (turret ring & hydraulic pump needs to be fixed tho) however the play-style and maps heavily dictates the Abrams performance. I’ve had a lot more enjoyable experience playing in medium-long hilly maps than CQC Maps. Though from playing the T-80UK alot, it’s a lot more survivable if used correctly.
For the HSTVL, it’s decent however with the introduction of detailed modules, it’s greatest strength which is high survivability (empty space) goes away. Just fix the horizontal ring and give it’s accurate round.
I agree with the ADATS though, it cannot cannot be at 11.7 when CAS aircrafts (SU24,SU25T) at 11.3 can outrange and destroy it. The biggest weakness is the lack of a tracking radar. It cannot lock through clouds and foliage. But more importantly it cannot lock Air-Ground weaponry and intercept them.
Another thing is that the US has one of the worst top tier helis. Inaccurate slow hellfires is what holds the apache back.
Temporary solution, make symmetrical matchmaking more common (similar to how ARB).
You all just keep crying about the negatives and completely ignore the positives. Last time I’m gonna say it, YES it has weak spots like EVERY tank.
The Mantlet is weak on EVERY tank and Turret ring on MOST, and the ones that do have a good turret ring like the T-series tanks offset that benefit by being made entirely of ammo so can be EASILY one shot.
Boo hoo the Abrams has a weak mantlet and turret ring. It also can’t be killed by ammo or fuel explosions and has a 1500hp engine with good transmission gearing. The benefits well and truly outweigh the negatives. Stop crying and learn how to play your tank.
Unfortunately even with the F-15e, it’s really difficult to get ahead. You’re facing Pantsirs that shoot you from spawn which causes you to immediately dive which causes a loss of air speed. Then you finally get enough airspeed and altitude only to be faced with an air to air missile on you from a su/mig that just spawned. This game is utterly retarded at this point. Airfields should shoot down incoming SAMs within a certain range. You can’t even use Adats or LAVAD as a deterrent because of lack of decent radar, loss of target acquisition and or lack of range. Add to the mix the new Russian AGM and it’s just stupidity.
Abrams is fine if they would fix the fucking lower mantlet armor. It’s modeled like shit and it’s been confirmed to be a bug over a year ago.The HSTV-L which is the only fun US ground they add this turret basket as the WHOLE FUCKING aiming drive. It should act like a spall liner, not a turret drive. That and the lack of adding DELTA 6 rounds just drives me nuts. HSTVL was fine when it came out but newer tanks with spall liners is more of a reason this should get the updated Delta 6 with better penetration. Like is Gaijin intentionally trolling US mains?!
After thoroughly reviewing your profile, I find your statements lack any credibility. Frankly, I’m too tired to debunk your so-called “top-tier” claims. It’s hard to believe this account has been active since 2013. You don’t even own a single top-tier American vehicle, yet you presume to tell others how to play their tanks? Let’s not even mention your atrocious stats with the M1 and your audacious claim that it’s “fine.” I’m genuinely curious how you arrived at that conclusion.
I’m not sure how to respond to such remarks. Based on my personal experience and that of friends who play War Thunder and own top-tier vehicles, reading your comments had me laughing all afternoon—it’s just so absurd and unrealistic. Please, spare yourself further embarrassment, my friend.
At no point did I suggest adding more armor to address the M1’s weaknesses. Both at the start of the discussion and in the comments above, I emphasized the need for improved “forgiveness” and “internal structure optimization” for the M1. As a 12.0 battle rating main battle tank, it’s absurd that it can be easily penetrated frontally by 30mm APDS and even weaker munitions. Clearly, our friend here, who refuses to aim at enemy weak spots, somehow believes the U.S. has the most powerful 12.0 MBT.
And one more thing—don’t try lecturing others on what they should do, especially when you’re clearly unqualified.
The current state of top-tier American vehicles is not caused by a single factor, but it is evident that they have been neglected for far too long. Players won’t spend their time on a nation where they see no future, especially when most of the time it’s marked by low win rates and high frustration.
You are absolutely right—many top-tier American vehicles haven’t received what they deserve. Poor map design further exacerbates this, making players feel like they are playing Team Deathmatch in Call of Duty rather than a strategic battle.
Yes, I very much agree with the point of view, hope you will continue to speak out on issues like this, thank you very much for your contribution to the community
Pantsir cannot frag any top CAS. If you’re dying to Pantsir at top BR, stop playing your A-10C and hop into your F-16C or F-15E instead and actually outrange it.
Tunguska is significantly weaker than ADATS in missile. Paper range is not effective range.
No SPAA in the game has 20km range against jets.
You also cite team skill site that proves player skill [win rate heat map of less than 2% of battles].
USA does have the single largest meta MBT lineup for top BR.
You’re one of the people claiming this by citing win rate heat maps.
M829A2 lolpens all T-80s EXCEPT T-80U.
Whenever I hop into Abrams and play like the skilled players of 2020, I get 4+ frags and all I do is rush around like a badger.
People forget the way to play top BR tanks [thankfully], and that’s to use mobility and confusion to frag enemy tanks.
The fast mobility makes it so they’re more likely to wiff shots [which they do].
Really? Where on this forum do you see people claiming Soviet tech tree players are the best players in the game? Cause you’re one of the few claiming that they are, and with anecdotal evidence at that.
A heat map of less than 2% of battles is not proof that your claim is correct; It is YOUR claim that Soviet tech tree players are better than everyone else, so own it and provide actual evidence to the extraordinary claim you’re making.
Oh, and when you profile check me you’ll find I play all 10 tech trees in War Thunder, with 10 air completed, 6 ground completed with the other 4 above BR 7.7.
Beldum is expanding into new tech trees while you insult him, his character, instead of addressing his on-topic posts.
DO NOT derail your own topic with personal attacks.
