I feel like people really skip over this or down play it.
If we had just 4 'skill brackets", that would increase the wait times by an average of 4x. I already have to wait 3-5min for a top tier ground rb match. I am not okay with changing that to 12-20min.
Strongly depends on what time and nation you play.
But an “Tournament/or whatever u wanna call it” mode, with SBMM, smaller teams (like 8v8), more balanced out CAS and maybe like Ship battle respawn system (3 ship + CAS spawn, SP needed but u cant spawn more then the 3 ships), Sim Like BR Brackets and Nations (to reduce waiting times) would be fine and i would really like it.
so, the 4 bombers thing is true. The 4 players max br is true as well.
The tournament’s arn’t SBMM. You can sign up for whatever tourny you want as long as you have the vehicles i believe. I’m signed up for the Esports qualification rounds in about a day or 2.
Unless im missing/overlooking something. And if so, whats the context?
Imho you are way too experienced to state this with 100% confidence. Imho the only way to prove or disprove this claim is to become an IT nerd and work for gaijin.
Have in mind that the MM plays a decisive role for gaijin to steer player behaviour and to earn money.
In case you want to take the red pill i recommend to read this post:
Thats like saying theres a god and using the bible as argument…
But for SBMM we have facs and statsheets… maybe someone should give statshark a few hundret bucks to make a table that also takes player skill into account, a table about the BRs player we already have… then we can finally settle this absurd discussion…
And one personal note… as a player in the very few top % of grb… i have also tried to find this out some years ago… wasnt able to proof anythink, didnt got good enemy players or the same level ones. Also cloxked in the brs my mate git with his, back then, lvl 5 acc. No noticable difference in 100 battles.
And i would claim, that if cant see a difference with my acc, then that alone could be used as an argument agaisnt the SBMM agrument.
I am not here to convince you otherwise - it boils down that we both rely on individual perceptions - whilst our own experiences are just anecdotal events compared to the number of matches played in wt.
And - i am not sure if your preferred game mode Ground RB is as easy to analyze as Air RB. As a pure WW 2 player in Air RB it looks way easier to detect certain patterns as several factors which determine the outcome of Ground RB matches (line ups, CAS as power up, number of respawns based on SP, etc.) are absent.
So Air RB as single spawn mode allows way easier analysis - especially if you play ~ 20k matches in the same BR range 3.7 - 4.7. Fully aware of the immanent risk of being fooled by apophenia i see for me enough circumstantial evidence that the MM has way more functions than gaijin is willing to reveal.
I think it would be a good idea for players to be able to stand out and give themselves the means to evolve. In ranked battles, it also teaches you to play and become better because you fight for your rank. If Gaijin allows it, they could also offer rewards at the end of each ranked season, such as personal titles, and these titles could be used in normal gameplay, allowing you to enjoy playing with players who have an exceptional title. I know many players from other games who started with a low rank and have become better, and we can even see them on Twitch currently. This mode offers many advantages.
I dont agree that adding more ways to make the playerbase sweaty try hards is a good idea. Yet another thing for people to either circlejerk with or act as if it means they are correct about everything.
Ngl, the only thing i learned from SBMM was that if i do good in 1-3 matches, i should expect the next 3-5 matches to be hell.
If that makes you sweat, nobody is forcing you to participate. Once again, I repeat, a ranked system would be there for anyone who wants it. If that makes you sweat, don’t play and just go into normal mode. As for playing 1-3 good matches, the following ones may become more difficult; you are not a pro either. Furthermore, what do you want? To win all your games? It would be good to come argue with real arguments, not just from your personal work in the game. We are talking about a system for all players and not just for you. I have played several ranked games, and if I have to talk about my personal experience, I have had several negative ratings, but my ranking was very good because I beat good players just as I could lose to bad ones, which is normal. It all depends on position, mindset, and a lot more; as they say, some days you win, other days you don’t. Please, the arguments should be more constructive.
No, I wasn’t wrong, squadron battles are literally the game’s ranked mode, they don’t do it in normal battles for a reason, also your insults are uncalled for and frankly just rude and childish.
How does that prevent the increase in “i have X title im right” card use?
I want each match to have a similar chance for me to do well. In ranked games, after 1-3 good matches, you are basically forced to have 3-5 awful matches.
I agree with this, and would like to bring up the idea of lobby based match making.
I hope this isn’t what we have currently and I’m making a useless point but I’m sure that most players don’t mind being rated by their skill.
If you were to use that data you could balance both of the enemy teams in a way that benefits the noobs like @FordPrefect3 said.
New players benefit from watching the veterans play, and as long as both sides have some veterans, and a little of bit of everything else you could have a healthy and educational system that improves your skill without having to thug it out with players of your similar skill level all of the time.
