It went 4:9 bc you dont know how to play against someone that isnt the regular player, not just in 1v1s, its the same reason i got a kd of almost 10 on the R2Y2, normal lobbys are full of people that have a kd of 0.6-1.0 in everything, Im not trying to insult you or anything like that at all.
I have been playing competitively for quite a few years, so I can say for sure which plane is better without even playing it.
The funniest part is they just announced the upcoming BR changes and after so many people suffered in the R2Y2s for months in order to get them before they get removed, Gaijin still ignores their coveted stats and change nothing. after playing for what is now 10 years, nobody can convince me this “game” is about fun and not just pure torture of the playerbase.
ikr lmao, i just give it the same playstile i do with the Ki-200, climb high and dive to get kills, doing normal right now, but it still sucks being slow (i love ground pounding on this thing whe no enemy is arround)
Does the flight performance of the V1, V2 and V3 actually change?
On the stat card they all have nearly the same same speed, which doesn’t seem to make sense, since the V2 and V3 would be more aerodynamic with the engines moved to the fuselage instead of wing housings.
Basically, V1 has better low end acceleration but worse top speed (and therefore worse high end acceleration), V3 has better high end acceleration due to higher top speed, and V2 is just objectively worse than the V3 so there’s no reason to play it.
Nope, not 8.0 material at all and never been even before the gun nerf. Its not fun at all getting rocketed from the sky by quided missiles in slow late ww2 jet which belongs to other late ww2 jets. And you cant do anything about those missiles anyway. No skill issue included I just cant do anything about people with guided missiles or people that go 400 km/h more. R2Y2s relies on people being stupid or picking people that dont pay attention to you to get any kills. Like 3 kill game in it is really quite lucky for it.
Honestly, I’m gonna give these a try properly to figure out what the matter is here. On the surface, they don’t seem that good, but I really haven’t played it a lot. I’ve followed the discussion in this thread a lot, and it seems people have very different ideas regarding this plane.
I just want to ask, @AlvisWisla, do you think the issue is compression rather than the plane itself? Your opinion seem to be that the plane shouldn’t move down. Me, with a cursory glance, think it could go down to 7.7 but that sort of BR decrease really wouldn’t change that much… (6.7 matchmaker is practically non-existent, so is 9.0 which is the highest it would face at 8.0)
It feels that there is a very big issue of compression at this BR. I’ve personally played the Barougan and that thing was a pain. F-84G isn’t really that fun either. It feels that there is a lot of planes in this bracket with really different capabilities crammed together into that BR range. Especially with something like the Sabre and MiG-15 being at this BR now as well.
I dunno. I’ll give it a proper try, I’ll play the V3 because I’ve heard it’s the best.
Decompressing 8.0, and obviously 9.3 and to an extent 10.0 would fix this issue entirely.
I very much believe that R2Y2 is the definition of what an 8.0 should be.
262 C is what a 7.7 should be.
Mig-9L is what a 7.3 should be.
Kikka is what a 7.0 should be.
If the 8.0s are objectively superior to R2Y2 they should be moved up.
Well, yeah. Just rewatched Defyn’s video on it (one from 4 years ago) and it honestly just seems like the plane is I-225 of 8.0? Being a plane you just go in and shoot people with. That’s just my observation though, based on the video.
What turns with an average climb rate for its BR? Yak-9? Like the Yak-9 of its BR.
There are still things that out-climb and maneuver worse, and there are things that climb worse and maneuver better.
And obviously there are things that are under-BR’d that do both better.
