Before removing the R2Y2, I just try to play R2Y2, which already has over 80% chance to full-uptier, even when it is in down-tier to against like Mig15ish or Meteor, I still feel pretty hard, after removing the air-respawn point, it is too slow and lack of acceleration, and it’s gun has been nerfed, Why it could still be 8.0?
It’s a 7.0/7.3 Jet.
i agree I rather use the kikka as its better than the r2y2
What are they replacing them with ?
Other than the F-84G? Nothing.
So it’s back to the gaps they were brought in to fill?
R2Y2, really worth 8.0?
Short answer: No.
Long answer: No, it isn’t.
In the same way F-84G and Su-11 are 7.0 jets.
From my experience and a quick cross analysis, the R2Y2 with the best guns around those BRs, and flight performance so far most similar to F-84G [I’ll do more comparisons later on], I think it’s good around 7.7 - 8.0. Obviously there are Mig-15s and Sabres that are under-BR’d, and downtiering first gen jets because of those jets isn’t the move.
Especially when R2Y2 is one of the few early jets that can actually cause issues for a P51H5NA which normally beats gen 1 jets.
@EddieVanHalo
There are no gaps.
Top Speeds at Sea Level (IAS)
R2Y2
V1: 836kp/h
V2: 853kp/h
V3: 888kp/h
F-84G: 978kp/h
Type 5 30mm aren’t the railguns they used to be, they have 1, maybe 2 turns at best before they start falling out of the air because they’re too heavy to sustain turns and they don’t have the engine power to compensate. These are no where near Korean Era jet performance.
If you think R2Y2s are bad at turning, wait until you find out about F-84G, MD45x, J29A, Gloster Meteor, Mig-9s, etc.
Cannot test acceleration as it will clutter my video folder.
MD452: Climb: 38 initial.
Turn rate: 18.4
MD450B: Climb: 31.4 initial
Turn rate: 18.2
J29A: Climb: 32
Turn rate: 16.4
Vamp FB52: Climb: 28
Turn rate: 22.4
R2Y2 V3 [2 extra minutes of fuel]: Climb: 32
Turn rate: 19.6
F-84G: Climb: 34
Turn rate: 14.7
Meteor G41K: Climb: 41
Turn rate: 18.4
F-80C: Climb: 31
Turn rate: 17.3
The 7.0s and 7.3s people think are on-par with R2Y2:
Kikka: Climb: 27
Turn rate: 17.8 @ over 100kph faster.
Mig-9L: Climb: 28
Turn rate: 16.6
Meteor Mk3: Climb: 19.8
Turn rate: 22.3
Attacker: Climb: 35
Turn rate: 18.1
Su-11: Climb: 35
Turn rate: 19.8
F-80A: Climb: 28
Turn rate: 19.8
F3D [21 min fuel is minimum fuel]: Climb: 25
Turn rate: 17.4
Me 262: Climb: 23
Turn rate: 18
F2H-2: Climb: 38
Turn rate: 18.6
turning isn’t the ideal in Jets, if your on average 100+kp/h slower than your competition and you can’t sustain energy in dogfights (because you will spend most of your time dodging repeated attacks from faster enemies that can retain speed) then maybe, just maybe you’re overtiered.
Sustained turn rate is energy retention, and it’s all listed there.
R2Y2 sustains energy better than F2H, Me 262, F3D, Attacker, Mig-9L, Kikka, F-80C, Meteor G41K, F-84G, J29A, MD452, and the BR 8.0 MD450B.
Its kinda funny to see people who have ground out the R2Y2 due to its removal, only to discover that its kinda shit
No.
Literally yes. Energy retention is measured two ways:
Rate of speed gain or loss at a given g-load, OR G-load at a given set speed that stays the same.
Either or are methods of measuring energy retention.
Once again, i am saying the same thing i told you, are you comparing the R2Y2 to a flying boat to now say it should stay at 8.0?
What flying boat? Almost all aircraft at 8.0 and 7.7 is worse in maneuverability than it.
And most are a similar climb rate.
ALL but Su-11 is worse airframe performance than R2Y2 at 7.3 and below, and Su-11 is worse in armament.
Are u kidding? The closest of R2Y2 is Sea Meteor, which is almost everything better than R2Y2 except the guns( even the guns, because the Type 5 has been nerfed like Type 992)
If only consider the climb rate or time to speed, R2Y2 is also the worst one, you can see F84G still better than R2Y2 when it was in high speed( that’s why F84G needs to keep at high speed)
