R-27ET?
I am pretty shure that discussion on that moment was about R-27EP
That is.
Earlier Flogger try to prove, that 27EP been in service, use this manual as proof.
But surprise-surprise - there no a word about EP - only ER, and ET.
R-27EP with datalink?
Yes, I’m already confused.
I am only saying that seeking information about missile that has never been exported in an export manual have no logic it souldnt be there
I don’t care about the R-27EP, our argument isn’t about that.
Here you can see I launched the R-27ET. It actually went for flares (the enemy SM knew it was an ET lol), but it re-locked another target. Also I used radar lock to potentially confuse the enemy into thinking its an R-77 so maybe they won’t flare it, and slaving to radar lock just generally reduces the chance of it going for enemy missiles on the initial launch.
Well, yes, now i see - you really launch 27ET from that far.
Surprised tbh.
Maybe they slightly buff seeker, to lock-on distant head-on targets.
Yeah I’ve had launches as far as 24km rear/side aspect and it’ll still hit. The ET is underrated.
Well, from rear - i believe, do the same.
From side - good tool, to get F-15 bonked, while they try notch incomings, after launch their own 120.
From front… well, need some luck, but 27ET IRCM is pretty unreliable, so better use it for more stealthy strikes.
If they get the AIM-152 then Russia will just get the KS-172
Yes, battle of paper sticks
Honestly a lot of stuff in game is paper, so wouldn’t be completely surprised.
Well, not a lot, depends.
Tanks - maybe.
But not about amraam for example(in case of maneuverability and kinetics(which can be not, considering that 120A/B performance reports still alive))
Also trouble that game lacks of stuff like a dual fin and etc
I personally don’t think that the R-27ET ever had LOAL. But in game, I do think that the R-27ET should have better side aspect and better 9:00/2:00 flare resistance, as right now, in pretty much any aspect besides rear the R-27ET WILL go for a launched missile.
it’s suppose to have better IRCCM than the R-73 IIRC but it was added nerfed
EP has generally been meant to be used for export, but there is some, not a lot, of information about RU using it in small numbers.
ET flare resistance is quite decent I’d say. Problem begins when shooting from long ranges; if enemy randomly pops flares or shoot missiles that can trash your ET. But if you manage to fire from rear quarter it rarely gets fooled since enemies are almost always on afterburner and do not expect long range IR shots.
In ARB it’s just hard to flank effectively since the “go left” meta is so ridiculously prominent that you can hardly get around the 16 enemies that are clumped together with their AWACS radars.
Been developed as AWACS killer.
Can be used as ARAGM, but with issues.
Btw, existing (in plans) 27EM, which is variant of EA (or ER), with ability to intercept low-altitude targets (3 m). Been developed, to intercept cruise/anti-ship missiles.
