EP has generally been meant to be used for export, but there is some, not a lot, of information about RU using it in small numbers.

ET flare resistance is quite decent I’d say. Problem begins when shooting from long ranges; if enemy randomly pops flares or shoot missiles that can trash your ET. But if you manage to fire from rear quarter it rarely gets fooled since enemies are almost always on afterburner and do not expect long range IR shots.
In ARB it’s just hard to flank effectively since the “go left” meta is so ridiculously prominent that you can hardly get around the 16 enemies that are clumped together with their AWACS radars.
Been developed as AWACS killer.
Can be used as ARAGM, but with issues.
Btw, existing (in plans) 27EM, which is variant of EA (or ER), with ability to intercept low-altitude targets (3 m). Been developed, to intercept cruise/anti-ship missiles.
Not everyone can see each other so, there are still plenty of opportunities to launch an ET side/rear aspect especially after the initial SPAMRAAM stage. I know because I’m an ET enjoyer.
I usually hang around at 4000 meters of altitude and go straight till I get into an engagement, if enemy pushes on my position I turn left to let my teammates shoot them down. If they don’t, I just get close to their airfield area and turn back to their six (basically half circling the map clockwise) position. I also get some opportunities to shoot at people who fly past me at contrails (5500+ meters) which makes ETs quite handy. It’s usually a 50/50 chance with ETs in my experience.
Thats a very conservative tactic, I’m surprised there are still enemies left after you flank their six.

its existence is dubious, but its performance is fairly well known, HOWEVER, it open the door to many more paper/fictional missiles.
