Question How would Germany get a F-16 Fighting Falcon?

Then remove all the current copy and paste(like Sweden getting a tiger 2)

I never understood why adding vehicles a nation needs suddenly becomes a issue when it’s for Germany.

I think f18 will come next major update

Do you think so? I can’t see it coming before next year tbh.

Does Indonesia operate F-18s? Afaik the next major is going to bring them in as Japan’s sub-TT. I might be talking straight out of my ass though.

F-18a would be a side-grade to aircraft we have now. F-18C wouldn’t be that far ahead of what we have now and the only logical interim aircraft before Typhoon (I guess December)

I can see f18a September and maybe f18c October or December

Maybe? I’m not sure. Also depends on the variant as well.

Its a CAS aircraft. That is like complaining that the A10 cannot hang with an F16. Its fine. It has GBU-24s and a Lightning pod.

They have not officially stated that Germany gets to be the one stop shop for all things air at this time. It should stay that way. The smart thing is to keep it this way. As of right now, Germany is not slated to get the F18. Just like they don’t have the F16 which is also a good thing. Its sitting in enough countries as it is.

Removes the uniqueness of playing multiple nations, and its silly.

That would actually be fine, since the F15C carries the Aim-120C (all generations), Aim-120Ds, AMRAAMER, and Aim-9X II. So I am fine with them going into the game and updating the F15Cs armament correctly.

Because the STRV 103 is my absolute favorite tank design of all time, and I wanted to rock it. I love the thing, for the same reason I have not really pushed up in BR in Sweden. I am fascinated with it, and wish they would update it to the NERA/ERA model.

I do as well, and I really hope they do the UK some justice and drop the CF18 on you guys.

No. they operate the F16, SU-27, & SU-30.

It would be good, but if not the CF-18 for the UK. I’m hoping for the BAE Hawk or Tornado Gr4. Either would also be very good. CF-18 might make a half decent premium/event vehicle for us in the future. So might be a chance of not getting it on the TT at the same time as the others

I am not sure the Hawk would be competitive. It isn’t stealth, it isn’t fast. In this current meta? We have two of them here where I live, and I have actually flown one. BAE has an office here by Lockheed.

That would be a saturation plane. BAE Hawk is flown by Australia, Finland, India, Indonesia (Only because he mentioned it before), SA, UK, UAE, US, Canada… Would be interesting to see how you could even make it work, unless it comes in at a low tier?

GBU’s and F&F Mavericks are not the same league. GBU’s are garbage in high tier matches vs. SAM SPAAs.

Germany needs an F-16. Currently there’s no viable CAS option. Tornado is impossible to use with its bomb-only loadout (and its just 4 small GBUs without much punch, when you use GBU-24, you have not even 4 bomb drops). Holding laser locks is just meh in current game meta. Tornado is a huge bus, but somehow has low ordnance count and quality wise even more bs.

Phantom has indeed Mavericks, which is nice and works. But just two. Barely worth the spawn (800-900 points). Both jets have abysmal flight models. Ordnance count is a thing, 2 vs 6 (+2 GBUs) is a massive difference.

F-16 with Maverick triple mounts is needed for Germany. All of Germany’s allies have F-16, so there should be a way to get one.

@Swiss F-18: This one has no CAS loadout. Ger won’t need this one.

Germany should get the EF-T to fill this role, we don’t need another nation with the F16. You have the LII Pod so you don’t even have to face the target to keep lock as long as you aren’t flying map of the earth. in RB Ground how many tanks do you think one CAS should be taking out?

It makes sense to only see the F18E/F SH for the German line since they did place an order for them.

F-16 should be out of the question, you already have the best tanks in the game. This is what balance looks like. Best tanks with acceptable CAS.

If we are talking Air RB then no. Not until you get the EF-T or the F18E/F SH.

This is only because a stupid decision has been made to not allow the AGM-45, AGM-78, AGM-88, ALARM, YJ-91, etc. We are long long overdue for this. As well as the HOJ/Radiation modes for the Aim-120 and others. SPAA wouldn’t be an issue if the Tornado had its AGM-88s which is where the energy for this should really be directed.

Well, it could be armed with ASRAAM and AMRAAM but I’m more thinking one about 9.7 (25mm ADEN, SRAAM/Aim-9Dish and CMs) and one about 11.0/11.3 (9Ls and Skyflash )

Think Alpha jet equivalent and AMX equivalent as a bit of a filler

I think you have clue about CAS use in current top tier matches.

(First thing SPAA players do is to switch off radar and simply use IRST lock or just free aim the SAM) SEAD wouldn’t change anything. The moment its introduced it gets useless.

First 1 to 2 Typhoons will have basically no A2G. For Britain and Italy this is little issue as we have the Gr4/A200C tornados and the harriers. But Germany is lacking.

Maybe they should add the proposed tornado ASSTA4 instead of the 3.1 with more loadout options

This isn’t true. The AGM-88E, AGM-88F, and AGM-88G (ER) all have INS, GPS, and can use Satellite imagery targeting. They all can also be fed from Imagery Targeting system in the new pods. Radiation on or off wouldn’t matter, as you are hot enough to target either way. You can GPS program them at launch, and they are smart enough to track even with RADAR off.

Edit: Modern missile AEMS radar is also good enough to distinguish ground targets in this day and age as well.

That seems silly. It has 13 hardpoints.

This is better than giving them an F16.

But its still a bus. Its a pain to line up towards ground targets, to change directions and to evade SAMs. It needs to be a F-16. Tornado is meh. Nado would just work when it gets F&F ordnance (like 18 Brimstones). So you could spawn and spam the F&F stuff towards the ground map. For anything else its useless.

Even the 10.3 GRB Tornados are a pain. First I though they’re nice. Cause 12 CCIP’ed bombs at this BR… But nados are unsteerable. If you spot ground targets you usually can’t line up your drop fast enought. It turns tooooo sloooow.

We’re talking about War Thunder. What are you talking about^^

You should not be getting the F16 just because you don’t know how, or aren’t patient enough to fly the Tornado. Make your turns wider. Loiter outside SPAA range properly. Learn to play the Jet.

What are US players told when going up against German armor in low BR? Learn to aim, learn where to aim, etc… But yet you want to be hand fed a Jet so you don’t have to?

This looks more like a skill issue, than a lineup issue.

Alot GRB maps don’t even have 20km radius to stay out of Pantsir range. Even when they’re bigger (some are)…what exactly is the profit of loitering around the map edges? Just wait until the match timer ticks down?

Thats a typical GRB map (Sweden, cycles often). As you can see… I scratch the map borders. But still in range of SAMs. In fact I’m permanently getting shot at in this scene. Just the high transversal speed keeps me alive. As soon as you turn into the map to make a bomb drop, you’re toast. This plane is useless. Also keep in mind, when you return to this flight pattern, your pod loses lock and the bomb goes to nirvana.

(If you’d actually play GRB WT, you’d know how wrong all your advices and ideas are.)
