Hey everyone hjnbnb here and I was wondering whether or not the lift of the Yak-38 is correct? It feels funny to me, it feels like it has less lift, but more like its the ground pushing back against gravity from sheer horror - but losing.
It feels like the Yak-38 is more than a brick, its a block of cement and while I love the aircraft I can never seem to get it to work unless I’m slow enough for thrust vectoring to work. Can anyone help me, or have any information?
I don’t know much about the Yak 38’s IRL performance but from how complicated the Harriers’ flight models are in most higher performance games (like DCS) I wouldn’t be surprised if the Yak-38 is pretty under modelled but then again, it was known for its horrendous agility and manoeuvrability IRL. Even 3rd world dictators didn’t want it
True that but you know what I mean by it feels like the ground is fighting a losing battle to push it away XD
Considering the ratio of wing to rest of the plane, saying it flies is indeed a stretch.
I also agree that VTOL FMs are probably the dodgiest in the game, considering Gaijin had to make them mildly player proof.
